On Bos-Was-LAC potential three-way deal reported by @ShamsCharania

* Porzingis needs to opt in by end of day. Possible to opt-in-extend-and-trade
* LAC needs to add one small salary (Preston or Boston?)
* LAC pick could be in 2028, or #30 tomorrow
* WAS would generate ~10M TPE

Can we get PG Bones Hyland in the deal too? Give us another PG in the mix.

Bones pretty much pouted himself out of Denver last year. Not really interested.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

It would not surprise me if they try and ship muscala to the wiz also, just lessens c's tax bill this year and is not guaranteed next year.

Although they could just trade him to another team with room or an exception

While Muscala is a team option so they have to real need to dump him on the wiz.

Celtics: KP
Washington: Morris(exp), Galo(exp), small salary from LAC (B Boston Jr?), #30 from LAC
Clippers: Brogdon

If Gallinari is really in the deal, I would think the framework is something like:

BOSTON RECEIVES: Porzingis + ONE of Hyland/Boston/Preston

WASHINGTON RECEIVES: Morris, Gallinari, LAC 2028 1st, BOS 2025 1st, and some mix of future 2nds (whatever)

LAC RECEIVES: Malcolm Brogdon

I would be pretty surprised if Washington gets all that for a guy who can opt out and leave for nothing. Like I'd be pretty surprised if its JUST the 2028 LAC picks, picks that far out have value.

This is more like a S&T, and those kind of deals rarely return more than 1 st of value. Especially because Washington would only be taking back expirings.

My guess is more like #30 this year from LAC + MAYBE 35 from Boston but in all honetsly I'd guess its just #30 from Clippers and B Boston Jr as the assets.

Lats pick in the 1st for a guy you are about to lose for nothing is a good get for Washington.

If you trade him before the new nba year July whatever, he does not count to the tax bill I think, it just Wyc and Co's money that is all, I think Zarren would be on top of it.

I see no reason for us to throw in a pick for WAS.  Gallinari Porzingis would be gone for nothing if not for this deal.  Instead of nothing, they get Morris and Gallinari who can be flipped for something.  Now if us sending a pick is offsetting us getting one of the prospects (Hyland/Boston/Preston), I could see that, but not sure it is necessary or the best use of the pick.

I believe that used to be a rule, but i think they sowed up that loophole exactly for situations like this.

Maybe this was mentioned before but wonder if this prompts them to keep PP.

So 'strong talks' turned into 'closing in'. That's subtle wording, but I guess it's progress. This tweet also didn't discuss who else we were sending out (likely Gallinari). Not going to get excited until it is completed.

Huge!! (Literally)

As long as Brogdon is the main piece we’re giving up (plus picks, I assume) then that is a really solid balancing of the team.

Do we still move Pritchard?
