The Bulls have been in contact with Brian Scalabrine this summer, as the team looks to fill out its roster with a perimeter shooter that would necessarily need many minutes.

Scalabrine is familiar with new Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau from their time together with the Celtics.

LOL Roy. TP to you.

I wish Scal the best of luck and hope he lands there. This tells me a lot more about Scal and his abilities than any of the detractors on this blog. (not meaning you on that because you have always been fair) If Thib is thinking about adding him to the team, then he must be a little better than many on this site are willing to admit!

I can see the upside to that...Scal could help with the teaching of Thibs defense. He could be almost like a player/coach.Scal is not the dumbiest or worst defensive mind in the league.I thought bringing Scal back as the last spot wouldn't have hurt this team.

Yea no kidding I havn't heard one quote in five years about Scal complaining. He did whatever the team asked of him the best he could. 08-09 He came of a 3 concussion season to step up big in the Orlando series. The way some ppl minimize and disrespect Scal on this board is pathetic.

The fact that he didnt get to dress in the playoffs last year is another black eye for the Celtics organization that ranks right up there with Clifford Ray and Leon Powe.

Best of luck in Chicago Scal.

Good for Brian that he has the opportunity to showcase his basketball arsenal.I mean he can hit the three, but he didnt do much but get cheered on by the fans when he made his appearance with 52 seconds left in the game.

They should sign him.

Scal's knowledge of Thibs' defense will help ease the transition for the rest of the Bulls players.

Scal did dress for one game, applying a nice stretch of pressure defense to Lamar Odom.

Prediction:

If Scal ends up elsewhere, the SCAL-A-BREENY chants will be louder than ever when he comes to the Garden.  Those people who were holding back thinking it was mocking him while he was a Celtic, will no longer bite their tongues.

To get Scal at the minimum in Chicago, with a spot available and a new coach attempting to implement a new system, would be such an valuable addition that I'm amazed they didn't lock him up right away.  Having at least one guy that knows the system on the court will make it so much easier for the others to pick it up, and Scal can be counted on to take his place on the bench whenever that time may be.  A great move by Chicago.

Truthfully, he doesn't have that same usefulness on the C's...

Well, I'll miss the man, but I'll be happy for him and Thibs if he goes. I think this helps CHI.

True, and the classy fans will stand up and cheer for him at the first and thank him for being a class act, team player, and role model in the community. You'll be able to see the jerks in the audience real quickly.
