So at this rate the Celtics might play 4 games in 4 days huh, or two 3 games in 3 days...depending on how many games get postponed and such

As the NBA tightened coronavirus protocols to try and preserve a season teetering amid positive tests, thinning rosters and game postponements, the league made a dramatic change that most franchises had wanted all along: The closing off of rooms to non-team guests in road hotels.

The NBA and National Basketball Players Association on Tuesday reached agreement on several more revisions to policy, including the league further limiting movement for players and staffs on road trips. The league is no longer allowing players and staff to leave hotels for non-team activities, as well as eliminating visitors to hotel rooms, which one GM had told ESPN had been "the Mack-truck driving through all our protocols."

Players were previously allowed to have up to two guests in hotel rooms, including those who were family members and longstanding personal friends.

What does this mean exactly?

I imagine the visitors to hotel rooms are escorts/strippers. We'll just call this the James Harden rule.

oh come on...  most of these players have to share a room.

and.......

[Wojnarowski] The Magic and Celtics were scheduled to play Wednesday and Friday in Boston, but Magic won't be traveling today, sources tell ESPN. It is immediately unclear the status of the Friday game, but sources say Wednesday's game has been postponed.

odds are Friday game is cancelled also...just a guess

Do a doubleheader

I'd love to see the NBA do a double header like baseball teams. Give the bench more playing time in one of the two games.

That would be crazy

Team Jayson take care of business in the morning. Team Brown at the evening

Make each game 24 minutes long and I see no problem.

All of this money wasted with double the tests and outside restrictions (like players will abide by it)

Why not just do a regional bubble .... until all players can be vaccinated

Regional bubble could look like 20 games  with a one week resting period recess.  Then another 20 games. One week rest. With extended playoffs back at Orlando.

This would have been more prudent

And something the players would probably had a problem with.

It's easy for us as fans to say these players, coaches, trainers, et al. should go into bubbles for extended periods of time, but doing something like that puts a ton of mental pressure on these people. And sometimes, we fans forget the players are people, with the same family, friends, relationships and problems as everyone else.

Sorry, but count me out of ever wanting to be locked up in a hotel, without my wife, kids, parents, other family members and friends, for months at a time, with all my co-workers, and only allowed to leave that hotel to go to work.

That type of isolation with people you might not consider friends and aren't people you would necessarily socialize with out of work, can weigh on the mind, cause mental illness to set in and be deleterious to doing the job you are being isolated to do in the first place.

I wonder how many of the players that were bubblized would agree to another 3-4 month stint in a bubble atmosphere once again.

Well the current system is breaking

The bubble worked

I do agree it is a hard way to live. But millions of dollars is the compensation

There is also hope to cling on that once a good chunk of the population/including players are vaccinated. Things can go back to the way it was.

Wizards-Pistons and Warriors-Suns are both postponed for Friday.

Still no word on Celtics-Magic. Likely won't know until testing results are back tomorrow for Boston. The Celtics are due to issue an updated injury report at 5 PM ET on Thursday.

If they could have just started the season in March or April. Better chance vaccinations are open to general public by then.

Grant and TT are practicing today

and decent chance 2 other players will be ready for tomorrow game

but even if they aren't,  Grant and TT would give the Celts 9 bodies

So Friday game should be good to go
