Whether it's getting old or getting fat, Boris Diaw likes to do it overnight.

I was thinking to myself, "Jesus, Diaw looks like he's 114 years old."

I feel sad.

We could have had Asik if only we overpaid a bit. It would be worth it. I mean AD is having a monster night on the boards and blocks, and he SOMEHOW still logged 12 rebounds and 5 blocks.

Darn it, Danny...

Edit:

17 rebounds. Golly.

Here's Diaw in the Finals last June....

He looks like Samuel L. Jackson in 'Unbreakable' now.

I agree, but I think Asik and Davis feed off each other very well so far though. I'm not sure he would do as well here.

Sure, but he would still be a potential 12-13 rebounds per game guy here and would protect the paint. That's something i would really dont mind overpaying.

Ehh, Omer has been an elite-level rebounder and defender pretty much wherever he's played. Think it's just who he is.

Do wonder though, what held up the negotiations between Ainge on Morey on what seemed like a done deal sending Asik to Boston.

IIRC, it's a first round pick and Courtney Lee. I think the negotiations halted because Danny didnt want to give up the Clips pick? Not sure if I got that right.

I love James Young's potential, but I would GLADLY give him up for Asik.

For all the second guessing NO endured over not pairing Noel with Davis, maybe they knew what they were doing after all?

Ainge was ready to do the deal.  It broke down at the Rockets' ownership level.

Guess I was wrong. I thought it was a first round pick that broke the negotiations.

If you look at their recent moves, they've been trying to surround Davis with veteran-ish players (trading for Holiday, trading for Asik) because they're trying to capitalize on his potential sooner than later.

If you actually look at that lineup.

Holiday, Evans, Davis, Asik

That's a great defensive squad. They are thin on the bench but with those four playing good defense, they'll be a very competitive out to every team.

Nope, as far as I know, Ainge agreed to the terms of Lee, Bass, and a 1st for Asik.  Once Morey brought it to his owners, though, they vetoed the trade.  Morey spoke about it earlier in the offseason.  He didn't specifically reference the failed trade, but the details he provided, combined with what Ainge said, made it obvious he was referring to the Boston talks.
