That seems like a lot for Collins. I'd also rather get a stockier, stronger type of big man since Porzingis already brings a lot of what Collins does to the table.

We need beefiness more than floor stretching at this point.

John Collins?  This doesn’t come anywhere near the salary we’d need to send out.  You could triple the salaries of the players you’re trading and it still wouldn’t be enough.

EDIT: I see it was Zach Collins.  Definitely no.  Pritchard has a much better chance of being useful, nevermind  Walsh and the picks to boot.

I don't think we can trade Pritchard.

Also, Rivers is garbage.

Zach.  Who SAS wants to keep.

Regarding Payton, we can trade him, but he has a poison pill provision in his contract because we just signed him to a rookie extension where the outgoing would be his current salary or 4m but it would be $7.5m for SA.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Ah.  That shouldn't be insurmountable at all.

I love Zach Collins, but I think he'd cost a #1 and would then want to be paid.

We’re all in, but we’re not REALLY all in

(I guess that means strong in every position, with no weaknesses, like an NBA 2K team with the salary cap turned off. I wish :police:)

Collins is solid and I've long thought he could be a valuable rotation big that could have low cost right now.

But I doubt the Spurs are going to trade him. They want a talented option at C next to Wemby.

Collins doesn't move me. I'd rather keep Pritchard and Walsh.

He makes too much to make sense to acquire and he isn't good enough (and there aren't other players on the Spurs) where it would make sense to go bigger and trade White
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yes, trading PP and filler for Zach Collins isn't really going big. Trading White and his $17m for a real big - now that would be going big.

But then we would be short...a ball handler, and would have to trade a big (Horford?) for another ball handler, leaving us short...a big

Celtics: Collins

Spurs: Prichard, Kornet, Walsh, multiple second round picks

Celtics then sign (free agent) Austin Rivers.

Personally I don't feel this is an All In move.  Collins isn't really the type of player we need.  We're needing a defensive center and someone who can rebound.  Plus this is giving up way to much for a player like Collins.

Could get a player like Jalen Smith from the Pacers.  He's only 5 million and has an extra year.  Would probably be had for couple seconds and we have our TE from Grant Williams.  If you want throw in player like Kornet.  This could also be done with a player like Andre Drummond who is something we need.

If I'm going to send some real assets and going All In it'll be for a young center we can resign and have him make a difference.  Ship Pritchard, Hauser, Kornet and Walsh with a couple seconds for Nic Claxton.  You only do this if you know you can resign him or extend him now.

This. I remember reading an article saying the Spurs wanted to keep Wemby at PF and start Collins at C.
