saying it matters more to the press than to him?  is that really the best answer to the Q?

I listened as he was being interviewed and my read on what he's trying to say is that in the overall scheme of things he's not placing undue emphasis on losing the game, because it's one game in 82. It doesn't mean the sky is falling in or the season is over and it's wrist slitting time. Basically just put it behind you and move on to the next game, win or lose. Ben also didn't quote him on the first part of his answer which was "well Golden State are the champions, they're a really good team, they've been playing better of late".

I'm sure a lot will be made of it though, questions about how serious Tatum really is about winning, if he can't get up for the WORLD CHAMPIONS then why is he here? It hurts us the fans, it should hurt him too! :police:

In seriousness he probably could have given the rote quotable answer, which would have been "we're disappointed, we came out to win it, it was a big matchup for us and we fell short". But I guess he's just one of those laid back move-on type guys, for better or worse.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

If a game against the team that stole the title from our hands last year is just another game, either you are lying, or you don't have a pulse. lol
I prefer to think it was the former for JT.

I agree with you that I'm sure they had this game circled a long time ago, competitors are like that  :police:

If anything I feel like they took it too seriously and they were a little tense instead of loose like they normally are. Little too much hero ball from the Jays at the start, trying to take the Dubs on on their own. But in a sense he's right, it's one game, they're the same team after the game as they were before it, just that now they're a little humbled and (hopefully) more recognizant of what they need to work on to get better.

I think he's trying to deprive media talking heads as much as he can, which I respect.

The Warriors match up very well with Tatum, which is why Boston struggles so much with them.  I think the Bucks also pose significant problems.  No one aside from those 2 are overly concerning.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
