"Sources tell me that both the Suns and Crowder are now working toward finding him a trade out of Phoenix...Look for teams like Boston, Memphis, Dallas, Miami."

Shams Charania

Crowder asked to forgo training camp, which the Suns agreed to, per ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Windhorst added that "Crowder was informed over the summer that he may lose his starting job this season, sources said, and it prompted him to request a trade."

Windhorst added that the Suns "had discussions about it throughout the summer but hadn't found a deal yet."

A Crowder trade is almost a foregone conclusion at this point.
5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

If he wants to be traded because he is not gping to be starter, is he a good fit for the Celtics?

I would say no. He could introduce toxicity to the team if he wants more minutes than are available. Plus he might decide to test Joe given that Joe is a new and interim coach. I would pass.

The last thing our rookie coach needs is a locker-room with someone like Crowder.

We need depth at the 3-4, and he's the type of player you want on your team in the playoffs. He's tough and has some veteran tricks to get a few FTs now and again and defend a few positions at an annoying level.

I think he goes to Heat. Trade Robinson. Not sure how salaries match.

Yes. Because he wants to start, but I don't think he can start on any contender.

My initial reaction when I read this report was that he’d be a perfect fit with Miami. I hope that doesn’t happen.

Man, interesting how Crowder went from a fan favorite due to him playing with 100% effort to souring on everyone in all his stops. He's so full of himself.

Suns: Dillon Brooks

Grizzlies: Jae Crowder

—————————

Something like this makes the most sense for both teams IMO.

Both players are on expiring deals, Brooks offers much needed bench scoring for Suns. Crowder would be the starting forward for the Grizzlies and fits in perfectly with their grit and grind identity.

—————————

Grizzlies

Morant
Bane
Crowder
Jackson Jr.
Adams

Jones, Clarke, Williams, Green, Tillman

Suns

Paul
Booker
Bridges
Johnson
Ayton

Brooks, Payne, Saric, Shamet, Biyombo

Brooks is a much better player at this point.
