There's some speculation that Crowder could be moved:

If so, what's he worth?  He's an expiring contract making $10,183,800.  Is he better than Grant Williams?

Maybe Theis and some filler.

Would rather keep Grant.

Yeah, I’ve seen his name pop up with Miami being rumored.  I’d be interested for a certain price — if Phoenix is looking for pure salary relief we should be able to make a compelling offer using the TPE.

I'd say he's pretty similar to Grant at this point ... both in terms of play style and talent level. I trust Grant more as a shooter at this point. Jae has the veteran moxy and experience that might help him be a bit more consistent in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind Jae as he is certainly trustworthy enough to soak up regular season minutes at the 3/4. However, I wouldn't want to use the big TPE on him since he is so duplicative of Grant. He doesn't add great shooting or playmaking from the backup wing spot. Theis for Jae to save PHX a few mil and get them a solid big if they sign-and-trade Ayton for wing like Anunoby? That I would do.

This would lead to some epic end of practice 3pt contests between Smart, Crowder and White

A bit duplicative of G Williams. An upgrade but I am not sure how worthwhile. G-Will gives you a guy to throw at Giannis. Crowder cannot. Throw in the age difference. Not sure.

my concern with Crowder is his attitude.  he left on less than happy terms after hearing the fans chanting for Hayward when Crowder would be the guy he'd be replacing in the rotation.

Easy pass for me, on Crowder.  To me, his greatest talent is playing hard when he has no right to be competitive.  He doesn't know and hence plays hard.

Last time he was here, he shot too many three's and missed too many three's.  Was not at all unhappy to see him go.

If Boston strikes out on other moves for the TPE and Phoenix basically just gives him away, there could be a lot worse uses of the TPE than Crowder.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
