… unless he leaves another team at the altar.

The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to hire Josh McDaniels as their new head coach and Dave Ziegler as their new general manager, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Raiders and McDaniels are still finalizing a contract, the sources said.

The 44-year-old Ziegler, the New England Patriots' director of player personnel, would replace Mike Mayock, who was fired earlier this month. He interviewed with the Raiders earlier this month.

Wishing McDaniels the best!

I will say though I'm kind of glad he's gone. People talk about Mac's limitations and such but honestly, I felt like some of the losses last season had more to do with McDaniels than it did Mac, particularly the playcalling. Also, we signed Jonnu Smith to a big deal and then it didn't even seem like they tried to get him involved really. Yes, some of that is on Jonnu, but definitely not all of it.

I wonder if this means Bill O'Brien back to NE? Not only does he have the previous NE experience but he's also been with Saban + Alabama recently and maybe has some good intel about Mac Jones from that.

I agree. For as much as McDaniels was given credit for the success of Jones, I also thought he held him back too. Against average to below average teams, Jones was allowed to throw at will. However, against better teams, it became a run heavy offense. In thise situations, Jones was never allowed to get into a rhythm because it was run on first and second down, and throw on 3rd and long.
