Happy to bring back Theis for depth (and potentially salary filler in a potential future trade) and generally like the Kanter addition due to his rebounding skills and ability to score. At 5M, he looks like a bargain even with his defensive issues. Poirier I admittedly don't know much about but he seems promising.

With that said, I still think we need a "bruiser" on this team, like Baynes was for us these past few seasons. Someone who is a great defender.

Do we realistically expect Timelord to be that for this upcoming season? Probably not.

I still expect Ainge to try and add 2 more players using veteran minimum exception (1 guard, 1 big - both for depth).

I'm just wondering if there's another big out there who we can target who fits that mold? Doesn't seem like they have interest in Cousins according to recent reports.

Maybe, but is there any slots for a vet min big man?

C  Kanter, Time Lord, Poirier
PF Theis, Williams, Semi, Yabu

That's 7 guys.   All are replaceable, but all should get a chance to prove themselves this pre-season/start of the season.

Unless a true starter becomes available.

I don't view Ojeyele as a big man, and frankly I don't have any expectations from Yabusele. I'm sure he's a great locker room/bench presence but he's barely played so it's hard to tell what to expect from him.

I think the big man rotation is pretty much set now.

They use Semi as a PF

Yabu is likely trade filler at this point, but as the last big man on the bench, he is fine for now.

Roster as it stands:

Guards: Kemba, Langford, Edwards
Linebackers: Smart
Wings:Brown, Tatum, Hayward, Semi
Bigs: Williams, Theis, Kanter, Poirier, Yabu, Wiliams

That's 14 slots, so we have at most one slot left. And that's assuming Waters is on a two-way, he could make the team as well.

I imagine they'll probably leave that roster spot open for now and see who shakes loose, I'd imagine they would be looking at a perimeter player for it.

He has a 3 million guaranteed contract though, so he's not going anywhere unless its in a trade.

We have our quota of bruisers: Poirier, Kanter and G Williams. And Tackos for desert.

I could see Wanamaker.   They liked him as the third PG.   Allows them to let the two rookies to ease into a role.

Yeah Wanamaker would be solid. Some sort of backup PG instead of Smart or the rookies is probably necessary.

Oh man. We better hope Timelord is solid otherwise we're going to get roasted by all the other bigs in the East  :P

More like the free agent part of the big man rotation is pretty much set.

I imagine the trade market for a big man opens later.

The only two that come to mind are Noah Vonleh (only 6'9" but very strong and a good rebounder) and Joakim Noah, who I actually would love to add for his toughness alone.
