Here we are again, fourth time in 14 years, trying to make it 4 for 4 this century! Sale vs Kershaw in game one and look for Fenway park to be rocking. We got through two 100 plus win teams so far, have not lost on the road yet, and are looking like a force unstoppable. This Dodger pitching staff is tough as they have stacked lefties, but this Sox team has the it factor.
The Dodgers needed an extra game in regular season to win the division. They escaped the Brewers with strong perfomance in game 7 but they have yet to face a foe like the Sox.
8:09 est starting time, Fox TV....
Expect another epic series from our Sox....Beat LA chants echoing throughout Fenway will be priceless. I would not be surprised if this is over in 5 for Sox and I would also not be surprised to see it go the distance with us blowing them out in an epic game 7. Imagine Halloween night in Fenway with a game 7, winner take all.
We are just too good to lose now...we have come to far.
Go Sox!
-
Bad left/right matchups in this series.
Need to play near perfect.
-
I see this series going a lot like the Cards/Sox WS in 2013.
Tough, seasoned opponent that a lot of fans will underestimate. There will be moments where the series seems in doubt, but our bats will carry us to a few more runs than them and we take it in 6 games.
-
Ready for greatness tonight and this series!
-
Nice way to start! Struck him out!,
-
It looks like Sale is feeling a lot better!
-
It looks like Sale is feeling a lot better!
Absolutely does!
-
Kershaw looks like he's balking every time. The delivery is just weird
-
Great start!
-
Yeah Mookie!
Way to go Benintendi!
-
Wow. What a start. Risks everywhere, but it's working!
-
Loving it! 1-0!!!!
-
Isn't blocking second like that illegal? Didn't they change that when they eliminated takeout slides?
-
It would have been beautifully poetic if Benintendi had gone in spikes up on Machado, but I'll take him on second either way
-
Betts and Benitendi. Letsgooooo.

You're a good but violent man, Jim.
-
And now JD comes through too! I love this team
-
Yes!,,,

Welcome to Fenway Ker....shaw!
-
The intensity of the playoffs across all sports is amazing.
-
Joe Buck needs to stop talking
-
51 pitches through 2 innings is not good. We really need to get 5 innings out of Sale

Did not like that inning for Sale- robbed on check swing as well and seems like strike zone a bit wonky.

He wasn't getting them to chase balls out of the zone with 2 strikes. Hopefully he can adjust
-
Devers has an insane on base % this postseason. Unreal for a guy that young
-
1st and 3rd for ALDS MVP! Come on, let's make some more noise
-
[dang]...missed opportunity...we are cracking ball well vs Kershaw too

That ball hit the mound in the worst way possible, it took out a lot of the speed and made it an easy hop for ****-face to turn 2 with
-
Kershaw has had more contact and hard hit balls against him but Sale has thrown a lot more pitches.
-
He was clearly safe there
-
Man, the Dodgers just cannot pick up fly balls tonight
-
Yes! Big hit!
-
Ugh....
-
Glad JD is okay, but between him and Altuve (multiple times) slipping on bags this postseason I wonder if they'll take a look at it this offseason

Doubt it. Baseball likes changing things as much as Kim Kardashian likes turning down photographs.
-
That's how you get back on track. Sale should be able to get through 5 without a problem if he keeps this up
-
Nail biter!
-
We need to take lead right back
-
Nothing more deflating than scoring and taking leads or extending leads after the other team scores in half inning before you. Gotta get a run at the minimum here
-
bases loaded!
-
Dang it.
-
Bogaerts brought that run home by hustling down the line. Great play
-
Needed that!....one more please
-
Nice! 5-3.
-
Bogaerts brought that run home by hustling down the line. Great play
how huge was that now?!

Big time huge!

HUGE!
-
Could be a fun series!
-
Dodgers haven't faced a team that can put up runs like the Sox can sgainst great pitching without hitting a HR.
-
Great inning by Kelly there. He's been brilliant all offseason
-

Almost as huge as my hatred of Machado!
-
Erod is coming in? Uh oh
-

sadly, I wish my Brewers could have manufactured some runs without a HR but that's a major weak point with their hitters. The Sox should be playing us, not the Dodgers. >:(
-
This entire series is gonna be super stressful

Would have loved to see them in it. I thought you would win game 7.
-
I want more runs.
-
This entire series is gonna be super stressful
I think it'll play out a lot like the 2013 Cards series. Tense, back-and-forth. But Sox talent is just a bit greater and carries the series in 6.
-
Nice!!!!
The ball is starting to drop for us. Love it.
-
Another fly ball totally misplayed by LA. This is just crazy

I hope so

Pretty wild..... love a boink double to start the 7th!
-
yes! 8-4!
-
Nunez out of nowhere (well, off the bench)! That takes a bit of stress away!
-
Boom. Dynamite.
-
How about that smash by unlikely character!
-
Great pitching by Eovaldi!
-
Who comes in next inning? Kimbrell? Maybe Pomerantz?
-
Anyone catch Joe Buck saying "Dave Roberts touches these players every day." The people here watching the game lost it when he said that.
-
Crowd is off the hook.
-
Great pitching by Eovaldi!
We need to resign him ASAP. His stuff is electric, and he fits here.

Agreed. He can take the pressure, which can be hard to find
-
Let's see how Kimbrell does now that he isn't tipping pitches
-
Great game one!
-
That's what I like to see!
Now repeat it tomorrow because I want to see that in person!
-
TP's for all!!!!!!!
Kimbrel throwing darts. Good to see. We're going to need more of that!!!!
Hopefully Price has gotten his head right too.
Love the way this team is playing.

Way to go Sox. They can score lots of runs against anyone. The 2018 World Series belongs to the Sox.
-
Perfecto! We are a tough out.
-
Great win. Kimbrel back on track.
-
Great pitching by Eovaldi!

I agree wholeheartedly!
Kimbrel seems to be back to his old self, which is great for us, terrible for the Dodgers.
I thought going to Nunez was terrible ... shows what I know about baseball. ;D
-
Awesome game. Very solid win.
-
I think I've finally reached that age where I'm complaining about start times & game lengths. Getting old sucks.
Great win last night. Cora strikes gold again with the Nunez pinch hit AB. That was a vintage Fenway crowd last night. Place sounded like it was rocking.

I think you fall in the majority regarding start times and game lengths. I was at the game last night and the energy of the crowd is the only reason it didn't feel very long.
It will be interesting to see where baseball stands in 10-15 years when it comes to attendance and TV ratings. The digital media age gives us so many different options, which will ultimately lead to shorter attention spans for younger generations.
I've reached the point where I struggle to make it through the duration of regular season games. This has been the case since around 2011 when I finished college.
This is where the NBA has a huge advantage IMO. The regular season games have reached a perfect length. Great for both attendees and tv viewership.

One of best things of living in MST time zone and before that PST, much more acceptable start times. I do not miss those Eastern late nights to watch my teams play.

I live in CST these days and I'm struggling.

I hope complaining about late start times isn't a sign of getting/being old, because I've been complaining about them since I graduated college.
Staying up past midnight for the end of a game sucks when you leave for work at 6
-
Yeah midnight is killing me too.
