I will ALWAYS root for IT4.

I hope he finds himself back in the league in an important role next season and beyond. And if it’s wearing green, even better.

If the Kyrie experiment has taught me anything, it’s I would rather watch a hopeless team that’s fun to watch and easy to root for than a contender that’s unbearable to truly enjoy.

I do wish DA and Brad would consider IT in a reserve role, but I also wish he’s healthy and explosive enough to get that starter/leader role elsewhere (that he can’t get here with Kemba). Coming back to Boston would be an incredible story.

So true.  Those IT teams were some of the most watchable Celtics squads we’ve seen in recent years.

I'd take a reviving IT4 than Carsen Edwards, Brad Wanamaker, or Semi Ojeleye any time.

Good to see Thomas doing well

Yes! This!

We’re not missing out on much by losing Semi or Edwards. Even if Edwards develops some consistency, his ceiling is to be a perennial journeyman, imo.

I would take a flyer on IT, provided he’s healthy, if he‘s willing to come in and be a spark off the bench for a contender. At the very least, mgmt can enjoy jersey sales and the positive media coverage.

I miss the dude.

A healthy IT4 would provide quite the spark to this team.

His infectious camaraderie would be HUGE as well.

It truly would be magical if we could bring him back. I miss him as well. It was a crappy break that he pushed his body for us in the playoffs, got more injured and got booted soon after. I understand the business but personally, he was a great Celtics player and the heart misses what the heart misses!

I think in MANY ways IT4 was our "Offensive-Minded Marcus Smart"..........

"IF" we could get him...and he's at about 80-90% of what he was when he was here? That's a top 60 player in this league with IMMEASURABLE heart....

Infectious attitude....never-quit mentality.....

I think this team's morale took a bit of a hit with all of the Kyrie non-sense. I don't think we've QUITE got it back, yet...but we're close.

This wasn't ALL on Kyrie....and don't want to beat a dead horse with him.

But I'd love to add IT4 back to this team in some capacity - especially if he's well. He could help this team.

The more I think about the more fully on board I am with it. I don't have concerns about IT thinking of himself as "the man" anymore.

I know I'll likely be let down by Ainge, but seeing him succeed anywhere would be good enough for me

Danny could do worse than give IT a one year vet min prove himself contract. But I think we need to moderate our expectations - a lot of us who remember IT's heroics 4 years ago and hope he could duplicate them might be disappointed. I think if he averages 10ppg off the bench that would be a win for us and I wouldn't be expecting much more.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I'm all for bringing Thomas back. But he'd need to be the primary back-up for Walker and get regular minutes.
I don't want Thomas to be a garbage-minutes-extraordinaire.
Him becoming a gimmick would be painful to watch.

So in the case the Celtics draft a point guard (for instance Kira Lewis) then I would pass on the opportunity.

Yeah, I would want IT in Wanamaker's role health permitting. We've already had a decent go of hiding him on defence in years gone by. Plus, given Wanamaker's complete lack of defensive effort most of the time I wouldn't see too much of a difference.

Even what he provided for Washington would be useful, if he was a bit more efficient

IT in Washington was quite a productive player. If he could be a bit better that his Washington self then he’d be the perfect 6th man, bench scoring option. Plus I have this feeling that him being in Celtic green again would really rejuvenate him.

I think it would. It helps having a whole city wanting you to succeed
