Brown has the best ratio of trade value to years left on contract. We probably can’t pay him after next year anyway.

Brown and Tatum.

I must say I'm confused as to why this would even be a question.

If Celts are rebuilding then that's the ideal situation.

But if there's a trade and the Celts will be contenders, Hayward has to be a part of the Celtics.

This year has upended my expectations about team chemistry. I just didn’t foresee how much trouble they were going to have sharing the ball. For sure subtracting “mr sacrifice” Terry Rozier is going to help. But beyond that? If we actually get Davis and keep Kyrie, who fits next to them? Both Brown and Tatum need touches and freedom to become the best version of the players they can be. Will it be there with Kyrie and AD in the mix? And if you keep Hayward, that’s *three* guys who would be happy with a usage rate around 30.

Brown has his contract year next year. This year he was a good soldier, but if he wants a max deal or close to it he has to become a better playmaker. Can they find the freedom for him to develop that skill if he’s playing next to those guys?

If Kyrie leaves (which I honestly expect) I’d love to see gordon traded to NOP with picks. Keep Tatum and Brown. Smart, Brown, Tatum, Davis, Horford. But that’s a fantasy. Second best is sending Tatum and Smart (sigh), and picking up someone like Beverley in free agency. Beverley-Brown-Hayward-Davis-Horford, resign Baynes and Semi, ideally Mook. Ideally we keep enough picks to get a groomable player in this year’s draft. That team can be elite on defense and should have enough scoring without suffocating the guys who want to be score-first players.

Come on...all yall know Hayward should be driven out to the countryside like a pet, and left there.

And hope he doesn't find his way back like most dogs.

This reminds me...one summer this big half-wolf Huskey showed up at our house one summer hanging around, so we took him in. Big beautiful cool dog...then in the winter...first big snow storm he disappeared and we never saw him again  :)

But Hayward is CBS "boy"

and CBS inside scoop/effort brought Hayward here

so to trade him... yikes

I wonder if Hayward never got hurt, if some folks thinking would be the same as it is today

I would trade hayward for the abilty to rest horford more. Assuming davis is acquired and kyrie retained.

Hypothetically, hayward for drummond.

Bigman lineup of

David/horford/drummond/williams/resigned morris

Lets morris and horf comeoff bench and for horford to end close games.

I would not use tatum or brown to make such a deal

We had alot of dogs, and were allowed to go wherever they wanted back then, so not really  :)

And my most favorite dog, people would say they saw him more than 2 miles from home, but would always be there every night.

IMO Brown and Tatum are similar are many ways both positive and negative. Both need help with ball handling, both think of scoring the ball first, both are below average team facilitators. Brown is more physical and athletic. Tatum has a bit more length and size. Having them both in the lineup at the same time is sometimes a negative for the Team.

If Hayward comes back to the player we signed, he is a better team player than both, a much better passer, smarter defender, he gives himself for the sake of the team much more easily than both Brown and Tatum now and in the near future.

Me...I'd keep Brown and Hayward if trading Tatum would get me a seven-footer with major talent. With a move like that, you would have a better-balanced overall team IMO.

How can you ask this question without also mentioning what each would get back?  I mean, Tatum night return a star, brown a good player with few warts, and Hayward probably nothing.

So what is your point?

You would trade Tatum?

You would bankrupt a team with that kind of careless trading
