That said ... Dang, I hate the Yankees. And I hate seeing all these ex-Sox going to play for them—Boggs, Clemens, Damon, now Ells. This was purely a business decision, clearly.
Still, Ellsbury is injury-prone, and he's hitting the wrong side of 30, so he's probably got only a couple of years left that will be both productive and relatively healthy. So I and other Sox fans might watch him with regret over the next couple seasons, but after that we'll be glad it's the Yankees, not Boston, paying mucho dinero for a broken-down player.
