Shoo, Troll, go away.

But seriously, no. Wally was a decent player at times in his career but Gordon is a far superior, all around, basketball player. Hands down, no debate needed.

Poor man's? Did you mean "rich man's"?

Stats are skewed. Hayward was 19 and physically underdeveloped when he entered the league. As such, he struggled initially and had to build his body, and game, up. Wally was a 4 year senior and a finished product. The only thing he can do better than Hayward is shoot, but Hayward is better in every other facet of the game, especially ballhandling, defense, and being a facilitator on offense.

Posts like these make me realize not many people saw him in Utah.

Wally is a poor man’s Hayward.  Wally was a better shooter and that’s about it.  Plus defense isn’t included in those stats.  Also, Hayward’s continual improvement and career tragectory are important things that need to be looked at.

Confusing thread. I think it would be understandable to argue that they are comparable players (not an argument I would make), but saying that Hayward is a 'poor man's Szczerbiak' is just asking for trouble...on this site or any other.

Not sure why so many choose to disrespect Wally.  He's a former all star and former Celtic who made 7 playoff appearances in 10 seasons.  Hayward's played in 15 playoff games in his entire career...

Wally Szerebiak. A player so good he could hold up KG coming to Boston because if Wallyworld was here, the 2008 title banner wouldn't be.

How exactly did I disrespect Wally? Did Wally put his team on his back to get to or win those playoff games? Why is the amount of games relevant? Hayward is a better athlete, better passer, better defender, better rebounder, and all around better basketball player. Wally Szczerbiak was a decent NBA player who had a couple very good years, but he was never the best player on his team.
