I love durians but I'm asian

Hate ginger

I'm white as they come but I'm still gonna revoke your Asian card for that :')

.edit: btw, I used to hate ginger too but Thai food has converted me

If it's juiced or sliced real fine it's good

But a large slice of ginger...ew

Aight aight keep it then.

I just chuck ginger paste (or shredded ginger) into a lotta stuff. Along with garlic paste.

I think in cooking, salt and garlic are my two most used ingredients.

Oh, I like this exercise.  :)

Goat Cheese: tastes like vomit. Will eat most Feta, though.

Lamb: Too gamey, bad aftertaste.

Kalamata olives: too salty, will eat black olives..

Salmon: too oily. Will eat swordfish, cod, Haddock, occasionally.

Plain tomatoes: love ketchup, salsa, tomato sauce, though.

Italian Anisette Cookies- They look so good, but taste so bad.

Mussels…

Plain Milk

Rum- too many rum and Cola’s in college.

Pineapple chunks, but I will drink pineapple juice

Cherries-unless they are Maraschino cherries

Salami- love pepperoni, though.

Blue cheese by itself- Blue cheese dressing is good…

Anchovies

Think that’s all….

Edit: Horseradish sauce.  :-X

Interesting thread. I think I'm recently finding that I like intense flavors, especially things that leave a strong aftertaste or whatever (steak with wine, durian), but apparently not garlic/ginger sort of intense herbal flavors like that.

Makes me want to do one of those taste tests where they ask you a bunch of questions, to determine what coffee/wine you like. Would be interesting to compare everyone's results in this thread or whatever.

But I'll settle with CelticsStrong's judgment and threats at my rug for now  :P

Hahaha, have another TP to make up for it ;)

Yeah, I love taste testing stuff. Need to get out and do stuff like that more often to be honest. Even if it's just doing it at home.

As someone who works in a fairly niche area of hospitality, I cannot recommend just going out and tasting a whole bunch of stuff enough! There is a ridiculous amount out there

There aren't many things that I downright won't eat or that are repulsive to me.

On a related topic, my wife and I enjoyed hot & spicy food in our younger days (our 20's -- Szechuan, Mexican, Thai cuisines etc.) Now that we are in our 60's, our tastes have mellowed and find that food that's too hot just blocks the flavor of the food.  It's downright distracting and represents pain instead of pleasure.  Any time our food is too bland, we just add a little Cholula or other mild condiment.

Cucumber, Captain Morgan, & cilantro are all abominations.

Meanwhile I've the entire Hot Ones hot sauce line-up in my fridge :')

And then some. I have about 20 hot sauces, varying from sriracha all the way up to Blair's Mega Death sauce and Hot Ones' Last Dab XXX & Apollo hahahaha

I really love the different flavours you can get of each. And once you get used to a bit of heat, it allows you to taste the different flavours.

My current favourite is this mango flavoured one. It's not too hot either so you can use loads of it :D

cucumber?  it doesn't taste like anything.

with you on cilantro.  first time I had it (didn't know it was in what I was eating) I thought the kitchen used industrial cleaner to clean their bowls and didn't rinse mine out enough.
