I think Portland is one of the toughest jobs out there.

Most teams get the overwhelming majority from their top players -- like Nash who generates at least half of Phoenix's wins by himself -- but Portland rely on a balanced attack. On a group of quality role players playing together around Aldridge.

They get a lot of quality contributions out of Andre Miller, Marcus Camby, Nicolas Batum and the returning from injury Joel Przybilla (second best player on their 41 win team three years ago).

Just replacing those high quality role players in the first few rounds of the draft will be a difficult task. Going on and improving the quality of the roster further ... tough.

Minnesota is looking forward to the first round of the draft.  Looking at it, we see a great deal of opportunity to get a franchise player with the 2nd pick of the draft.  We are looking forward to getting this going and believe we have set our franchise up to be a serious contender for the NBA Title this season.

I have the second pick of the evening session and have to attend a wake this evening. Is anyone interested in making my pick for me? I can PM you my two choices that I would want drafted after the outcome of the mornings draft. Let me know and TPs will be forthcoming as thanks.

When my pick comes up, I am not waiting.

So if you really want my pick (4th overall), send offers early.  But, don't expect a move unless you blow my socks off.  (just a fair warning)
