Update

Well, apparently C's are now still interested in Jamison even if they can't get Butler... strange.

Interesting. From what the article says, and what we've read before, it looks like Danny will really ask the ownership if they would agree to take both Butler and Jamison's contracts for the coming years. They probably won't because it would be too much money but who knows?

Also, Butler for Ray straight up wouldn't work and it wouldn't really make us better, except if Ray gets traded and then gets a buyout to re-sign with us. Butler + Miller for Ray would be nice but let's be greedy and ask for more.

So I would still prefer Butler and Jamison for Ray, Scal and JR than Butler + filler for Ray because it woudn't improve us drastically like the Butler/Jamison deal would.

Ahh, I knew Jamison's contract was too much of an albatross...looks like we need to give them something better to pry out Butler though...include Perk for Haywood, get M. Miller, and deal with Stevenson's contract.

I would do Perk and Ray for Butler, Haywood and Mike James, but only if Ray gets bought out

I think Butler+Jamison for Ray makes us better. Butler is an upgrade over Ray and Jamison would help with our KG/Wallace concerns. You could also deal BBD for Augustin too.

I'm just now catching up with this rumor.  Sounds good, but aren't folks thinking that the we are not any better off this season switching Ray for Butler?  First off, a championship run still rests on KG's legs.  Second, Butler feels more like a replacement for Pierce than Ray -- in other words we don't replace what Ray provides (or is supposed to provide).

This seems like a good move -- I like Butler -- but I think it is a future move more than a present move.

Adding Jamison is very nice, but again -- he's no KG -- especially on the defenseive end.

What makes us better is KG being healthy.   Danny making a big move tells me he either doesn't believe the current team, if healthy, is good enough to compete -- or -- he believes the team will not be healthy.  Either way, it doesn't look good for this year.  And if that's the case, he should go all out future mode.

Yes, KG is a deciding factor in our championship hopes, and Butler is for sure a Pierce replacement in a few years or so, BUT, we can always run a rotation similar to the Spurs - instead of starting our "Big 3"(Butler being the new Ray) You put in Tony Allen(great D on the best SG/SF) then after 6-8 minutes you bring Butler for offense, along with a true PG like Augustine, then Daniels, Sheed and Sheldon.

Now my touch on this trade would be to include Stevenson, so he could be the starting SG - he can shoot(streaky) and he can defend like Tony.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Cavs and Celts will go head to head for Jamison, but sources say Cavs are very involved in talks for Amar'e Stoudemire.

Strange reports. Ray for Jamison + Miller and Ray coming back after a buyout would be great but it sounds like the C's want to get Jamison to prevent him from going to Cleveland?

Awesome!  If there is one thing this team needs... it's another 33 year old big man with one foot in the grave and 3 years remaining on his contract.   Sign me up!

Can't say I'm too surprised at Cleveland taking a run at this.  They get either one of those guys and it could be "game over" in the East.

Jamison alone makes 0 sense for this team unless the FO thinks KG is cooked.
