I watched Thirteen Lives on Amazon Prime. Absolutely amazing. Even though I knew the outcome going in, the movie was incredibly suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat.

Finally watched Hustle. So frustrating.

It was pretty good and Sandler was really excellent. Good story and they got so much right but what's the point of casting all these real basketball players if you're going to edit the crap out of the basketball games? The games are cut like they're trying to hide actors who can't play.

It was also all a little rushed so it felt too long.

But man, Sandler really did kill it.

Prey was probably the best Predator movie to date. I enjoyed it. If you like action/survival flicks I recommend it.

Top Gun: Maverick. I was expecting so, so, so much more given the reviews and box office numbers. I tried watching it a 2nd time thinking maybe I just wasn't getting "it" the first time. Nope. Never made it through the second viewing.

I thought it very mediocre if not leaning towards boring. Like not very good at all.

Interesting. How do you feel about the original? Tom Cruise in general? 80s nostalgia?

The movie reminded me of top gun, mixed with iron Eagle. I was completely OK with that.

Watched the Manti Te'o documentary last night.  It was decent.

I knew it was wild but never realized how wild that whole saga was.

The original Top Gun I liked. I think most Tom Cruise stuff is good but formulaic. I love 80's nostalgia. Because of all this, I expected a whole lot more, but the movie did nothing for me.

Original Top Gun was terrible.  But I’m on an island on that I guess.  No interest in the new one.

I agree with JG - 13 Lives was a great watch.  Well done Opie!

Felt the 3 act it fell off. Beginning it was solid.

Read this recommendation and gave it a shot, excellent film. Subtitles mixed with English really kept me paying attention too, I have a bad habit where I drift away on my phone when watching TV

That's kind of how I felt. The movie did some nice things and was incredibly well edited but people have been talking about it like it's more than a decent action movie and it I didn't think it was. It was also incredibly dumb and I couldn't get over how hard the movie was working to hide Cruise's age.

I watched Elvis last night. Another one a lot of people are clamoring about but I thought it was drag.

Just saw Barry Lyndon for the first time. Incredible film. 3 hours have never passed so fast. Best Kubrick joint imo.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to watch Sátantángo on the big screen, and while I don’t think I need to watch it again for a few years, it was absolutely one of the best films I have ever seen.

But it is, no exaggeration, seven-plus hours long. We arrived at the screening for 10am and left at 6ish (two ten minute intermissions). That was exhausting.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

I first heard the soundtrack in the 1970s and still need to hear it on a regular basis.

I hope more people here try it out.
