Rumor (now reported by Spears) - Rondo to Memphis?

I don't think this rumor has any credibility whatsoever.

That said, if the trade went down and included the #2 which is used on Thabeet and then the Celtics sign Andre Miller(MLE) and and Joe Smith(Vet Min) resign both Powe and Baby here's the roster to that point:

PG: Miller/Conley/Pruitt
SG: Ray/House/Tony
SF: Pierce/Gay/Walker
PF: KG/Smith/Powe
C:  Perk/Baby/Thabeet

Ladies and gentlemen, that would definitely be your 2010 NBA World Champions.

Well, there's a bunch of GM's around the league that agree with you but there are also a bunch that don't. Ying-yang. Yeah-nay. I think both points are valid and at the same time we really won't know for sure for at least a couple of years. Mike Conley was supposed to be a sure fire hit too. Two years later most who have posted on this thread consider him bench baggage.

We are talking about Chris Wallace here. He did give Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame, Crittendon, a low first and Marc Gasol. Not exactly one of last year's best trade unless your team wears Gold and Purple.

You know, in a way this "rumor" is kind of funny...around draft time anybody can make a post with some semi-plausible trade rumor and claim they heard about it and that the source said it was "very likely" and everybody will suddenly get into a frenzy about it.

For Rondo thats not enough. Rondo to memphis for Rudy, Mayo, Gasol, and #2. None of this will happen. Just something to devour on before the draft. our starting 5 in set for next season.

I would do Gay and #2 for Rondo.  Or Gasol and 2 for Rondo.  Draft Rubio.  

Rondo is at an all time high as far as trade value.  You have to get equal value otherwise don't trade him.    

And I'm the guy who started the TRADE RONDO thread 5 months ago and got ripped for 7 pages.

Where were all the "I'd trade Rondo for the right deal" guys 5 months ago!
