Step 1 - use Brogdon to try and aquire a PF in a S&T.  Thinking maybe Jerami Grant or Harrison Barnes.

Some players have salaries that decrease by 4.5% each year like Al Horford or Wendell Carter.  Was thinking sign Jerami or Harrison at around 21 million and decreasing to 20 then 19 in 3rd year.

Step 2, sign Grant Williams and ship out for Gary Harris, Luke Kennard, or Monte Morris.

Monte Morris makes the mostvsince being that he is a PG and he is cheaper than the other two.

Kp  Rob
Barnes. Horford
Tatum.
Brown.
White. Morris

That's a solid 8 man Rotation with Pritchard and Hauser still around too.

No way to do a sign and trade unless we cap ourselves at the first apron.  Even the second apron is tough to hit — we’d have to sign someone for about $10 million less than Brogdon is making, and get nothing for Grant.

Celtics: Caruso, Hayward, 2024 Hornets 2nd round pick, 2028 Hornets 2nd round pick

Bulls: Brogdon

Hornets: Williams (S + T)

Boston Celtics

Brown
Tatum
Porzingis
Williams III

Hayward, Horford, Caruso, Hauser, Prichard, Kornet, Walsh

———

Hayward becomes the new 6th man.

If he doesn’t work out, his albatross contract is an expiring deal. Hopefully like Brogdon with fewer minutes, (and rest) he can stay healthy, with the right matchup he could play in an offensive minded closing five;

White
Brown
Hayward
Tatum
Porzingis

Barring cap concerns from participating in the S&T, Caruso to replace Smart's guard defence would be intriguing. Not sure it's worth gambling on Gordy

I've been a big Barnes fan, so I'd love this if there was any way to get it done!

Grant is BYC, counts his full salary as outgoing but only half as incoming.

It’s the other way around, but yes.

Good idea. Seems to work for all 3 teams in terms of needs, although would Grant start as Hornets power forward? Probably not.
