I mean let’s be real. Sacramento is probably going to run laps all over this team, put up 140+ and light the beam Tuesday night  :(

Is it the coaches fault that Tatum went 4-12 from the field and only had 15pts? Asking for a friend.

Tell your friend the question is worth a TP to you.

I told them. Said I should give you a TP. Here you go…

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Derrick White….zero minutes in the fourth in a game Smart didn’t play in. What are we doing here?

Yeah. I mean, I can rationalize it when Smart and Brogdon are playing, but with Smart out, how do you not use White down the stretch?

I’m speculating but I think they were getting hammered on the glass and they didn’t want to get smaller than they already were by taking out Kornet for white. Maybe it would have been white for GWill but GWill was making shots

Yeah, we should've had Al play tonight. They were debating whether to play him or not, but decided they wanted to "keep it consistent" with him not playing any B2Bs.

Clearly not working out for us with us getting assaulted on the boards. You have to have him play tonight, especially with two days off after this and no Timelord. A loss in a game tonight can legitimately make the difference between first seed and third seed.
we're not getting the first seed.  that's gone.  third seed -- it's not out of the question with Philly coming together while the C's unravel down the stretch of the season

The first seed is absolutely not out of the question - but it requires us to actually play the right way and consistently. The Bucks have a more difficult schedule than us the rest of the way and could certianly give it up, especially with a game remaining against us.

Again, though, that requires them to play the right way, but they appear intent on just jacking up threes all night.
technically, sure, Milwaukee hasn't locked up the first seed.  practically, they have.  they're playing well down the stretch.  The C's are not.  I'd love to be wrong on this but I just don't see this happening.

They just lost to the Pacers without Halliburton by 20. I think they're due for regression to the mean. The C's-Bucks game will be huge. If the Celtics win, they pick up a full game and have the tiebreaker. 1st seed is very much in the picture for the Celtics, imo. And it's probably worth chasing so they don't have to go through both Milwaukee and Philly. I honestly think the East has the 3 best teams in rhe NBA.
we're now 3rd in the conference.  1st seed is a pipe dream

Odds are definitely lower now (especially now that we lost and are not up 19). I still maintain the games against Philly and Milwaukee are important. If we win both, we're right in the mix.

Wow I didn’t realize that. So dumb

Also everyone knows Utah is a tall team. Maybe we were better off having Horford sit yesterday and play today? Their decisions on these kind of things are never consistent
How about they just play Horford on a back to back? They don’t have the luxury anymore of dropping games. They are now the 3rd seed as a result.

It's the coach's fault that he insisted on playing Kornet most of the fourth when he was getting demolished defensively and on the boards and provided nothing offensively to make up for it.

It's the coach's fault that he failed on three straight possessions at the end of hte game to put us in good positions to succeed and get a good look, either sitting on his hands and doing nothing or drawing up awful plays that got us awful looks.

And even if the players themselves (Tatum and GWill) deviated from the set play, that's still at least partly/mostly on the coaching staff (as well as the individual players), as it highlights that the coaching staff hasn't instilled discipline or accountability with the guys where they're willing to deviate from the coach's directives.

Get off the Joe wagon, Goldy. It's broken down.

We can nitpick a lot of things but having Kornet in the closing lineup instead of Muscala was dumb given how Muscala looked and was actually grabbing boards

Was my biggest complaint about the 4th.  Muscala was grabbing rebounds in traffic.  Not necessarily all that time against Utah's trees, but he was helping a lot.  Kornet on the other hand was just straight up getting abused.

Kornet just watched THT on that play where Utah got the lead. I mean he didn’t even challenge him. It was an open lay up.

Kornet was an embarrassment tonight. We needed him and he turned in one of the worst performances I've ever seen.

Another lead blown.

They're soft.
Still don't believe in Joe.

Welp, at least on the plus side that Utah win knocked the Lakers temporarily out of the play in.  Give Lakers fans additional heartburn after their disastrous loss last night.

I don't even get mad about the C's losses anymore.  I stopped hoping for the top seed, and I'm doubtful we're even going to get the 2nd seed now.

Brown was WIDDEEEE open for a three, too. As were several others.

getting this team healthy isn't going to fix all the problems we've been witnessing after that hot start to the season.  right now, this team will be lucky to get to the second round and not get embarrassed in that round.

team needs a coach with a better offensive scheme and will crack down on the lazy mentality they have when they get a lead.

3-3 road trip with losses to two awful teams. Come home the three seed. Celtics just are not championship caliber.

Might win a series in the playoffs. But we will all shake our heads at the talent this team wasted with a lost coach and gutless players.

What was that?? Really go up against 3 guys?

I think the play was for him to pass it to Tatum but he decided to go for the basket because Utah defended the jays and the only one who helped came off Hauser in the corner. He could have passed it to Hauser but he made a decision to go for the rim

Which makes one think that Will read that play perfectly. Joe has been using that “JT from the backcourt” formation a lot lately. I’m sure there are a lot of options but man Will read that perfectly. He knew the ball was going back to JT/JB and instructed his guys to stay on them. Joe was outcoached.

Mazzulla said the play was for Tatum. Grant just tried to make a hero ball play. Get that loser off this team. He is more concerned about his highlights to get a contract than to win games.
