Grade-2 ankle sprain during warmups. This is the risk you take when you trade for a mid-30s player who has a long and growing history of lower-leg injuries. How sturdy are those ankles?

If KD is done that would make Denver the team to beat in the West.

It would give Dallas an opening to make a run as well but I do not think that will happen given the small ball lineups Kidd is using.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone get hurt in warmups before.

Some are saying he could miss even the start of the postseason. If Phoenix plays Golden State in Round 1 and KD is not playing, can Phoenix win that? I'm not so sure

Good and bad for PHX...but ultimately bad for the West.

KD will always produce once he's on the court. PHX can still be dangerous in the playoffs and they have a very small sample size of it. Bad for the WC because going into the playoffs you have only a few games to view how to defend and stop a dangerous PHX team with a rested KD.

The article says that the Suns organization is concerned that he may have a grade 2 ankle sprain. It hasn’t been confirmed, though. I find it very odd that he’d be able to finish a warmup if it was more than a slight sprain. Will be interesting to see what the MRI come back as.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Ughh, that is a rough looking injury. KD was taking off for a layup or dunk but stood on the side of his foot he was jumping off.

Not sure PHO can win a first round series without KD. They lost a fair bit of depth with Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and also Jae Crowder leaving from their past teams.

I think KD will have to be ready to go from Day One of the playoffs.

Prob the best case scenario there for PHX.

@ShamsCharania
The Suns and Durant are hopeful of progress during the re-evaluation window that allows for the 13-time All-Star to return to action shortly after two weeks, sources said. Good news for KD and Phoenix following scary fall in warmups.

Durant is brittle as a cracker.

Does anyone seriously expect this will work this season w him out there?

Championship teams aren’t made 2 weeks before playoffs start.

I still can’t believe one slip and suddenly he has to miss at least 3 weeks. KD at this point is brittle.
