Yikes. Ja facing a mandatory 50 game suspension if he brought the gun on team premises, particularly the airplane.

I saw this a few days ago but thought that they already addressed this with the "2 game suspension, out indefinitely for now". But I guess not. But this isn't good. Denver police is also investigating.

I think the distinction is that the 2-game suspension was from the Grizzlies, whereas a 50-game suspension would come from the league itself.

Well, if he gets the full 50 then yikes. That takes him out not just the rest of this season, but about 30-35 games to start next season too.

It's going to be so awkward when he returns to the basketball court at this rate. Like I can see opposing fans just taunting him while Morant has all these police cases and other footage/media just leaking every other day now besides even just flashing the gun

Is Morant's dad going to continue coming to games? Because I can easily see altercations happening between him and others as others taunt him about Morant's actions

Why is it against the rules to show a gun on social media?

I do not understand what he did wrong.

NBA guidelines specifically state that players are not to be carrying, brandishing or displaying any weapons while on an NBA sanctioned trip.

I don’t think this is a fair example, delonte west has a diagnose medical issue along with addiction issues and is generally just a very sad case. Someone like Rae carruth or Jarvis crittenton would seem more of a comparison the direction morant seemed to want to go.

Well I'm glad for whoever it was that staged an intervention for him. Nip this thing in the bud now so it doesn't affect the rest of his life.
