This was before Ja Morant posted a video with a gun

Reportedly this was the same day that Morant went to the club with the gun incident. Crazy. Ja seemed like a very likable kid his first few years, but certainly seems like he's fallen into a bad crowd lately and is tarnishing his reputation.

Yeah, didn’t he just essentially take Kyrie’s role with Nike?  I bet they’re thrilled.

lately?  his best friend since childhood is always around him.  It seems more like he can't shake his old friend than he has made new friends that are bad influences

Ja is now being investigated by the Colorado police, to determine if he broke any laws by brandishing his firearm inside a place that serves alcohol (i.e. the strip club Shotgun Willie's that he filmed himself in).

The only common denominator in all these incidents, other than Ja himself, is his best friend since childhood, Davonte Pack.

Yikes. Ja facing a mandatory 50 game suspension if he brought the gun on team premises, particularly the airplane.

Surely he wouldn’t be that stupid, would he?

I'm sure he would be that stupid.  Whether the NBA can prove it is another matter.

I saw this a few days ago but thought that they already addressed this with the "2 game suspension, out indefinitely for now". But I guess not. But this isn't good. Denver police is also investigating.

I think the distinction is that the 2-game suspension was from the Grizzlies, whereas a 50-game suspension would come from the league itself.

Oh ok that makes sense.

Well, if he gets the full 50 then yikes. That takes him out not just the rest of this season, but about 30-35 games to start next season too.

Got to say I have no sympathy for him if he gets a 50 game suspension for bringing a gun on a team plane. They have very good private security and there is just no reason to be doing this stuff.

Honestly from all accounts Ja Morant’s a nice guy. But at the end of the day, I don’t understand the level of sympathy from the media.

The guy doesn’t have cancer, he’s just behaving like an idiot. He didn’t grow up in the ghetto, he didn’t come from a broken home…he has no excuse.

Ja Morant isn’t a child, he’s 23 years old.
