I think the logic is, a lot of guys are already out anyways so they're thinking they'll just sit Tatum too and take the loss. Because theoretically even if they lose but win tomorrow night, they are guaranteed to head into the Break the 1 seed.

I don't agree with it personally, I'd prefer we face MIL with what we've got and secure the tiebreaker with a win, but it sounds like even if Tatum were to play, we'd be missing too many other guys besides just Smart and Brown. Even G-Will is questionable.

Plus this is a back-to-back. Lot of guys are probably going to miss 1 of those games anyways

Or Tatum is sick.  It痴 still the heigh of cold/flu season, on top of a lot of norovirus going around.  As someone with a small child, you池e going to get sick sometimes, and it痴 best to keep your norovirus to yourself instead of flying on the team charter.

Yep, it could very well be that too. I personally am fine with resting Tatum whenever possible. He's been playing heavy minutes this whole season due to the other injuries/circumstances but we want him as fresh as possible for the postseason

Not necessarily knocking on the guys sitting out if they truly can't go. However,  I'd feel ripped off if I paid for tickets and saw the team was taking the L because it just figured why bother.

If Tatum isn't really sick, he should play. Say we beat them with our bench, that's a message sent.

I don't like taking an L willingly. Go down fighting.
Still don't believe in Joe.

That's just how it is honestly especially between January through early March.

I mean the C's were missing a handful of guys in both the Sixers and Hornets games last week, and tickets still cost $100 minimum for each of those games (including against a BAD Hornets team)

Obviously some guys like Smart are actually dealing with stuff, but some others were out with "soreness" or "illness". Not doubting the illness, but lets be real if this were an actual playoff game I think those guys would still play unless it was a terrible fever/illness. And it's not just the C's, if you look at injury reports around the league there's guys missing games due to "management", "non-covid illness", "general soreness" etc

I have no doubt Tatum is sick.   The Celtics tend to get up for the best competition.   There is no way he would just choose to rest against the 2nd best team in the NBA.

No Tatum tonight, and Rob and Al still questionable. Brogdon and GWill available.

Would be hilarious if we went in there and still won absent our big three, let alone potentially our entire starting five. I知 doubting it, though. Sucks that it looks like we値l likely be tied in the loss column with them going into the break.

I don't know.   We might have to deal with the "team is better without Tatum" poll.

If we miraculously win tonight, just give us the 1 seed lol

Also imagine if Horford AND Timelord also both missed this game. Like omg haha

Would like to see JD Davison get some good minutes tonight, and showcase his talents.

If I had to guess. 1 of Horford/Timelord plays tonight, and the other plays tomorrow while the person playing today sits tomorrow

Yeah, jacking up a bunch of 3s tonight will be the only way of winning this one.
