Blazers are trading Josh Hart to the Knicks

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1623516660727525379?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

For Reddish, a protected 1st, and something unknown because the salary doesn’t match up.  (But Obi Toppin coming to Boston would work as a 3-team deal, hint hint Brad).

Strange trade. I thought Portland was in a win-now mode. Hart is one of their best glue guys / roll players.

I really don’t want to give up the farm for Poeltl

There are other cheaper options that can help (Naz Reid, PJ Washington, Drummond, etc)

That is a great draft pick that Ainge got. Very valuable. Well done.

Do not like it for LAL. Not enough return for conceding such a valuable future pick.

Minnesota didn't get much for D Russell but maybe that was the best they could get. Conley at least is a very good fit for Minnesota. He'll help balance out their perimeter play. Free Edwards up to be more aggressive & give him more time on the ball than the selfish D Russell allowed.
Disagree. Great deal for Lakers. Poor return by Ainge. Wish we had gotten Vandy. Bummer.

I think the future Laker’s 1st is the key asset in this trade. That could turn into a very talented player down the road, as the Lakers should be even more of a trainwreck by then for going all out for AD. I’m not convinced that Vanderbilt is more than a role player. You can sign guys like this in FA.

Does NYK really need a 2-guard?  I guess it is a decent use of a first round pick but I don’t see the fit.

Let's make a move Brad. Everyone else is making moves  >:(

I don't feel confident with this roster heading deep into playoffs or Finals. I'm concerned the Jay's will gas out and other guys having cold night. We need backup wings and a serviceable big

none of the moves so far makes anyone else any better.  Lakers improved but not by a lot and they certainly aren't close to being contenders

Feel like the C’s are all set at PF with Tatum, Horford, G-Will. Hoping for a C.

Minnesota should have easily gotten a better return for Russell.

Even with the two trades this evening, today in general felt very quiet overall, especially for the Celtics. Hopefully things pick up tomorrow morning and into the afternoon with the deadline now about 18 hours away

Hope CBS has something cooking.

Need a depth big and a depth wing/scorer. Doesn’t have to be a flashy guy like Poeltl either

Weird trade for NY.  Give up Reddish and a 1st for Hart.  That is the type of trade a contender would make, not a fringe playoff team.  NY gotta NY.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think Westbrook may end up in a place like Charlotte.  He isn't going to win them any games, which is good for a tanking team, but he might put some fans in the seats or otherwise draw interest.

Watching some Clips <>Mavs right now, which had me wondering: has anyone here seen Brandon Boston play at all this year? Had a great game against the Cs last year (I think it was)…. has always intrigued me as a depth wing with some upside.

I think it’s even weirder for POR. But I don’t know what the protections are on that pick.
