It's official:

Shams Charania
@ShamsCharania

Lakers, Jazz and Timberwolves are finalizing trade sending D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt to Los Angeles, Russell Westbrook and first-round pick to Utah and Mike Conley Jr. and second-round pick compensation to Minnesota, sources tell
@TheAthletic
@Stadium

Gotta say, that’s a steal for the Lakers.  An expiring contract and a first rounder for three viable rotation players.

I expected LA would have to give up both the '27 and '29 pick, this is a really good deal for them.

And the pick is protected. Absolute steal for LA.

Yeah, that seems like a lot to give up for a classic Ainge move to only get that first round pick in return, protected at that. Surprised we weren't able to beat out that for Vanderbilt.

Ainge is now Chris Wallace to me.

Help LAL. Should be ashamed.

I wonder what it transitions to (if anything) if it doesn't convey?

Maybe Ainge lost the little magic he had left after that Gobert deal.

Conley Jr and Vanderbilt don’t have a ton of value and Westbrook is almost certainly getting bought out. Minnesota gave up the best player in this trade.

Eh.  They get what could be a decent pick for non building blocks.

I wonder where Westbrook goes once he's bought out. Clippers? Heat?

I think they could have gotten more for those players from contending teams.  probably a first rounder each

Ainge underestimated the Lebron factor. They would have caved for unprotected or faced his wrath. Who stole the real Ainge? Wow

Danny seemingly didn’t think so.  Who was giving a #1 for Conley or Beasley individually?
