Weird trade for NY.  Give up Reddish and a 1st for Hart.  That is the type of trade a contender would make, not a fringe playoff team.  NY gotta NY.

I think itís even weirder for POR. But I donít know what the protections are on that pick.

It gives them another pick to offer for Durant. And it is possible the Reddish figures it out eventually.

Yeah, I don't get that one for NY either. A first for a SG who can't shoot for a team with an excess of dodgy shooters. Why?

Minnesota should have easily gotten a better return for Russell.
D Russell is an expiring contract and will be an unrestricted free agent. Hard to get give up much value when you are unsure if he'll stick around. He wants a major payday too -- more than he is worth.

I agree it is a disappointing return but I am not sure they could have done better.

Tough situation. They waited too long to trade him. Should have done it last year or at least last summer if he wasn't going to be in their long term plans.

Josh Hart is a good player.  Good pickup for the knicks

I think Westbrook may end up in a place like Charlotte.  He isn't going to win them any games, which is good for a tanking team, but he might put some fans in the seats or otherwise draw interest.
I see him signing with a contender this season but I agree he could end up somewhere like Charlotte in the summer. The offer of a larger payday and a larger role in the team with few contenders willing to offer a starting job or major payday.

Clarkson should be the next domino for Utah right? He did say he wanted to be traded. Interesting it was Beasley who went to the Lakers and not him.

Josh Hart is good. Weíll see what the protections are on that pick. At least they didnít give up a first for Cam Reddish, who is garbage. Oh waitÖÖ

He didnít say he wanted to be traded.  He said heís not picking up his option and expects to be traded.

Kelly Olynyk would be nice in Atlanta. More of a true perimeter player than Collins. A more prolific perimeter jump-shooter and a high level passer who will faciliate ball movement. Good fit next to Trae Young.

I don't think Collins would be good for Utah. Not a good fit with Kessler for the same reasons Collins is a bad fit in Atlanta next to Capela. Collins needs to play next to a stretch five who will vacate the paint and allow Collins to attack the rim on PnRs & isos.

Thatís all it took to get Poeltl? So Siakam goes back to power forward. OG may be on the block.

Heís on an expiring contract and they got a first round draft pick and and two 2nds. Thatís a good haul for the Spurs.
