So the Lakers got moderately better, the Mavs got significantly better (for now) and the Suns became a major favorite in the West? Lebron must be so disappointed. If the Lakers make the playoffs, they have to go through Jokic , Murray, and Gordon, Luka and Kyrie, and a loaded Suns team. Not to mention the Grizzlies.

I think the Lakers are a lot better.  They are now 2-deep with decent players at all positions to support their two stars, LeBron and Davis.  This is how I see them:

Beverley      Schroder
Russell        Beasley
LeBron        Brown
Bryant         Hachimura
Davis          ?

OK, maybe they are light at Center but I think the key to the Lakers is the health of LeBron and Davis, they have plenty of other players now.  Russell could be a wild card, he can be really good at time and not so great at times.  If they can get the good D'Angelo Russell, that team is very solid.  It won't matter though unless both Davis and LeBron are healthy.

Not seeing many rumors or activity yet this morning. I’m in leader training all morning, so can’t be following too closely. Any other news on C’s targets this morning? A wing is going to be critical in JB’s absence.

Tony Snell is playing well in Maine.

I don’t see Phoenix as a title contender..got Paul who is cooked, Durant is 34 & injury prone now & no bench..Hate say it but  Lakers could be a title contender & don’t count out Warrio
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Poeltl goes back to Toronto for a 1st and two 2nds.  Pretty close to the two 1sts the Spurs were seeking.  I’m okay with the C’s passing on him at that price.

I would have been fine if they paid that price.  I'm also fine with them passing.  A lot depends upon what the backup plan is, because Poeltl would have improved our title chances.

Maybe.  Toronto paid a price for someone who will start and they will try to resign.  He’d have been on the bench here, and walked in free agency.

Grant just did an amazing job containing Joel Embiid last night.  I’ve said all season our biggest need is a wing behind the Js, and not a big, and that’s what Stevens’ move should be.

I tend to agree with this. He’s going to start for Toronto and get paid. Couldn’t see the Celtics paying $20M/year for a backup center when they already have Al and Rob. Also I’d imagine that Poeltl would prefer being a starter somewhere.

Veteran forward Jae Crowder is being traded to the Bucks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link), who reports that the Nets have agreed to a trade that will send Crowder to Milwaukee, with five second-round picks headed to Brooklyn.

More to come…

Lol 5 second round picks? But still that sucks for us, I think Crowder is a useful piece for them

Wow.

5 second rounders?  That’s just funny. They must be including some bad salary to warrant that many seconds.

Crowder was always linked to the Bucks. Who is Milwaukee sending to match salaries though?
