Lakers get Irving and Gay

Nets get Conley and Olynyk + Lakers 1st

Jazz get Westbrook + Lakers 1st

Can't see Westbrook going to Nets and also can't see Kyrie going anywhere but the Lakers.

This is the most viable option that I have seen.  Really cleans things out for Utah.  Gives the Nets some decent players.  The Lakers eat Gay, give up their remaining picks, but get Kyrie and a legit chance to contend.

And we can stop all the Olynyk to Boston talk.

Nice job Oracle

I don’t see Brooklyn doing it. Durant wanted out, they weren’t going to dump him and take a major haircut. In terms of playable NBA talent, the Nets would get pennies on the dollar in that deal. According to silver screen and roll their earlier traceable FRP is in 2027(!) https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/22932237/lakers-future-nba-draft-picks-trades-swaps

off the cuff some Irving trades that in theory make sense

Irving for Paul, Crowder

Irving, Mills for Westbrook, the picks

Irving for Powell, Covington, Coffey

Irving for Russell

Irving for Hardaway, Bertans, 1st
I didn't do any multi-team trades, but this one makes some sense

Toronto - Westbrook, Reaves, LAL 27, LAL 29
Brooklyn - VanVleet
Los Angeles - Irving, Anunoby
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Stein now says they are interested. Mavs are a poorly run organization that I can see making a rash gamble like this.

I can't see Kyrie and Luka working together but Dinwiddie and Bullock would work in a trade.  Maybe if Dallas adds some picks, BKN might do this.

Does this mean he's going to the lakers?

What would the Nets want from the Lakers?

First round picks. If the Lakers swap Russ and picks for Kyrie, that would make sense for both sides.

In '27 & '29, though, right?

Believe they have a swap as well. The better pick going to the other party. Can’t see a lot of teams lining up for Kyrie and he’s just going to walk this summer. Might as well get something.

The Nets were actually playing really well before KD went down. Only a few games out of first.   Believe Durant is expected to be back shortly after the break as well. This once again shows how much of a POS Kyrie Irving is. Only cares about himself.

I don't disagree.  I don't think BKN is going to trade him.  Durant will come back, they will start winning, and Kyrie will get over it.

But I felt this was at least a somewhat realistic trade construct.

Yeah, I know people are just spitballing but that is a major bust deal for TOR.  It is essentially VanVleet and a pick for Westbrook and Reaves and a pick for Anunoby.  TOR could probably get Reaves and the 2 picks just for Anunoby and then why would anyone trade VanVleet for Westbrook?

If it were any other player, maybe.  But Kyrie sat out most of last season because he didn't want to get a shot, and then sat out this season because he refused to apologize for being an anti-Semite.  He'll absolutely sit out the rest of the season if he doesn't get traded.  He clearly doesn't care about winning -- we saw that here.

Utah also has Clarkson and Beasley who would slot in here easily for either Olynyk or Conley, but then Utah will want both Laker picks.  The Nets are between a rock and a hard place here and will have to accept a less than desirable return.  Olynyk would fit really well playing with Durant and Simmons.

Shams saying Phoenix, Dallas and Lakers are the three frontrunners for Kyrie

I think Phoenix is interesting. Replace CP3 with Kyrie, package Crowder away in that as well and take your chances with that. Meanwhile the Nets can still try to contend with CP3, Durant and Simmons I guess (and Crowder added to the fold)
