Celtics: Crowder

Suns: Prichard, Gallinari, Jackson, 2023 Second Round Pick - Trail Blazers (via Celtics)

—————————

I know this would be a difficult trade to make, but under the right circumstances, it might be a championship level decision.

Crowder is currently a hold out because he felt disrespected by the Suns management and forced into a bench role. If Crowder has maintained his fitness levels and would accept a lesser role, he’s exactly what this team needs.

Not starting for the Suns for Cam Johnson is much different than Horford and/or Tatum. I’m sure he would be extremely motivated to show he’s still the same player and deserves a long term deal going into free agency.

No thanks.  Would rather have Gallo’s positive presence than Crowder’s complaining.

Not interested in another 6'6" PF.  I liked him when he was with the Cs a few years back, but I've grown to dislike him as a complaining player and disgruntled person.

I would be fine to sign Crowder with Gallinari's DPE (if released) but this trade as proposed has no chance.  He is a playoff rotation level "swing".  Can help the wing rotation and the big rotation.  What more can you ask?

PHO has 14 contracts along with 1-10 day though.  So to take 3 players back to get rid of Crowder, they have to cut someone in addition to letting the 10 day expire.

No, PHO and Boston are not going to be able to do a trade for Crowder.  Only chance we have is if he is bought out.  And then, we are not going to be his preferred destination.  I think he probably does get bought out at some point but I don't think he ends up on Boston in any case.

Crowder was extremely unhappy in his last season here when the crowd was basically recruiting Hayward when Utah came to town.  no way Crowder wants to revisit Boston

I would pass on Crowder as well.  He is 32 not especially athletic and limited in some ways.  His FG percentage is 39% this year  and he is not an upgrade over Grant.

I think if anyone wanted crowder he'd be traded by now.  I think Crowder may be a hot name on the buyout market.  He's a FA after this year and really needs to start playing and contributing somewhere.  If he is bought out I think it's more likely he goes somewhere where he can play vs sit the bench.  he needs to reestablish his value through performance.  If he comes here he takes up the minutes Gallo was supposed to get.  15-20mpg I don't think will be enough for him.

How about a 3-team trade

Boston - Collins, Craig
Phoenix - White, Gallinari
Atlanta - Crowder, Shamet
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I would like to see them do one move for added playoff rotation depth, but this ain’t it. I’d be fine packaging Pritchard for another big or swing, because he’s a luxury we hopefully won’t need with Smart-Brown-Brogdon-White as formidable a backcourt as there is.

I’d send Grant and Pritchard for a true impact big behind Horford and Timelord. I don’t think Grant will be resigned anyway, so giving up Pritchard for an upgrade seems worth it.
