One of the biggest critics of the sculpture is Seneca Scott, a cousin of Coretta Scott King. He called the monument a waste of $10 million.

"Art is powerful and the pen is mightier than the sword. I get all of that. But that does not bring people together," Scott said. "It was an atrocity."

I think it's great that there's such a prominent piece of art representing MLK and Coretta Scott King in Boston.  The moment being depicted is a beautiful one.  I personally just don't love the sculpture itself.  The arms / hands alone look creepy to me, rather than something that is inspiring.

I haven’t seen it in person yet, so I haven’t formed an opinion.  I do think it’s often the case that the immediate reception to a piece of public art doesn’t match with how it’s perceived in the long run.

Looks ridiculous and the fact that it had a cost of $10M makes it even worse.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This is one take on it, and I've got to say...  That's not a flattering angle.
