…in the sense they will remain all-stars through at least their mid-40s? Anybody currently active?

I’m going to nominate Steph Curry. Just got a feeling he’ll play at a high level longer than anybody expects based on precedent.

I wouldn’t predict any NBA player to remain an All-Star into their mid-forties.  Not even the greats.  Vince hanging on as a rotation player until 43 is already remarkable enough.

For reference, Kareem was the oldest All-Star ever at 41.  So you’re talking about a guy making it four years past one of the best ever.

The correct answer to this is Lebron given that he's turning 38 this year and playing at an All-Star level.

But the even more correct answer is nobody, what Tom Brady is doing is only really possible because being an NFL quarter back doesn't require that much per athleticism and the position is protected from the kind of contact that might cause injury. Neither of those conditions things exist in the NBA.

I mean only 11 players in NBA history have made it to age 41 and Nat Hickey is the only one to hit 45 and he was the coach of the 1947-48 Providence Steamrollers who had some injuries so he played in 2 games.  Heck only 31 players have ever hit 40 while still active.  They actually tend to be HOFers that are still credible role players, but no where near all star level players (for the most part).

Lebron would be the guy that could do it if anyone could, given he will likely be an all star in his 20th season this year.
