The NBA has taken away the 76ers‘ second round picks in 2023 and 2024 for early free agency discussions last offseason.

Good. Late 2nds aren't worth much, but still it will make it harder for them to make a trade for depth.

Makes it funnier that they can't win games consistently. Maybe those 2nds will be in the 45 range!

Just stop the charade.  Let everybody negotiate with free agents as soon as the free agent's final season is done.

All phone calls between teams and agents must be recorded.  Any contact during the season is a loss of your next first rounder, and a $10 million fine.  A second offense is a loss of another #1, a $10 million fine, the loss of the MLE for a season, and suspension of your GM for one year.

I think this would just increase the power of vigilante players/agents who "play GM," like LeBron, Draymond, and Rich Paul.

wouldn't be against the penalties but would also like to see something applied to players that collude during the season to team up in a future season.

Why do I feel like they let the Harden issue slide, and did a slap on the write for some minor free-agent discussions and call it a day?
