I think it's safe to say Wembenyama is the most hyped up prospect since LeBron two decades ago. And barring injuries, the closest thing we've seen to a sure thing in a long time.

Out of all the tanking teams, where would you like to see him land? I'm going to say Charlotte. They've suffered long enough during MJ's reign of terror. I hate when franchises are bad for that long, and that would stink if LaMelo just bolted when his rookie contract is up. I think he and Melo would be an intriguing duo, maybe like a modern day Shaq/Kobe.

Pacers.

Mobley vs Victor for years would be quality battles.

New Orleans, via the Lakers.

Every time I picture him in the NBA, I envision him in a Spurs jersey, though.

Spurs. Would love to see Pop coach him.

They got enough luck with getting Tim Duncan.  Screw them.

I feel like we'll see some twin towers action in OKC with Victor and Chet.

We can call them the Slim Towers.

there's some tony parker connection there and the international thing

im not a total conspiracy theorist.  but cleveland got lebron. i do think the nba helps some of these things along.

im betting on san antonio

As great as it would be to see Lakers fans suffer with losing out on that pick, it would also make the Pelicans essentially a dynasty.  I’d rather see him go to the Kings

I don't think Pop has much left in the tank.

I was thinking the same thing, but thought it was too obvious.  We can only hope...

Not Utah.  They just demonstrated over the course of several seasons that they can’t build around a drop big.  Let somebody else try.

Sacramento screws everything up.  Not them either.

Detroit would be interesting.  Cunningham, Ivey, Bey if you like him.  VW could fit well with that mix.  …I may be giving them too much grace by not lumping them in with Sac, but I like Cunningham.

He’d be terrifying in Toronto with their perimeter length, but they’re too good to get him.  Good thing for us, lol.

We can't even hope, since Indiana has our first rounder this year. Which means, of course, that I could do one of two things:

A) Go to bed at a reasonable hour, or...
B) Sit around here trying to think of trades that the Celtics could make with a mid-level team (since no top-of-the-lottery team will trade their draft pick) for a first-rounder that ends up at the back of the lottery and somehow, the lottery ball bounces in our favor...

Guess which one I chose.

Mike
