I'm not too worried yet, I still think the B's win this in 6. However, they need to stop being sloppy with the puck. They turn it over way too much. And also, idk if this was the ice but it felt like the B's players were all falling down or unable to possess the puck consistently. It was the same in Game 1 but they managed to win. Yesterday's proved more costly though.

Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron did not travel with the team and is expected to miss Games 3 and 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round matchup against the Florida Panthers this weekend.

Coach Jim Montgomery said on Friday that his star center is "likely" to return in Game 5.

The article went on to say that a line shake up is expected.  Here is how things lined up based on the pregame skate:

Marchand - Coyle - Frederic
Hall - Zacha - Pastrnak
Bertuzzi - Krejci - DeBrusk
Lauko - Nosek - Hathaway

That is a major shake up.  If it works, Montgomery will be a genius.  If not, look out for the pitchforks.  Oh, and Ullmark may not play.  Swayman is expected to start, subject to game time reconsideration.

I like the Krejci line as proposed but I would swap Marchand and Hall.  I am not sure putting Marchand with Coyle makes sense.  He can get the puck to Pastrnak better than Hall can.  But I am all for a change.

Montgomery agrees with you on the turnovers and general sloppy play:

Quote
Boston lost Game 2 to the Panthers with a sloppy effort that was uncharacteristic for the regular-season juggernaut. Montgomery said the Bruins' 15 turnovers in the game were "catastrophic" and said there could be lineup changes for Game 3.

That was much better tonight. And they reclaimed home ice.

What a response from the B's this weekend on the road despite a rough Game 2 and missing guys (Bergeron, Krejci; others like Ullmark hurt/sick). Now up 3-1 in the series and with momentum!  ;D

If Marchard and Hall keep playing like this, the Bs are winning the Cup.

Great observation. Marchand was all business. No dumb penalties. Exactly what we need. And yes, Hall was playing well at the start of the season, but he really elevated these last two when we really needed him.

Long way to go but love what I am seeing.

Last I heard they were shooting for Game 5, but that was before Game 3.  At this point they probably won’t play him regardless.
Yup

They do have two days off before Game 5 so maybe that'll help Bergeron. We'll see. I'd be surprised though if this series went to Game 6 and Bergeron didn't play, I think he'll return by then if needed. It does sound to me like Krejci won't be available the rest of this series though. He wasn't looking good in Games 1 and 2 and might be dealing with something. They already basically ruled him out for Game 5 as well.
