I took Boston at the under on 54.5 to hedge against disappointment, and it moved down a win with the Ime/Rob news of last week.  Feeling disappointed, I doubled down on my hedge and took the under of 49.5 with elevated odds.

I’d love to bet on us for a title, but those odds feel way too optimistic (although not as optimistic as the Lakers odds).  Also, it looks as if the Lakers are still off the board for a win total, which I will bet the under on at 44.5 or more.

If I find myself in a state that allows online betting the next two weeks, I’d also take the over on Toronto and the under on the Knicks.

I also have an alternate odds bet on the Pelicans to win more than 48.5 games.  Between Zion returning, a full year of McCollum, and a third of the West tanking for Victor, I think they’ll take a big leap this year.

EDIT:  The Lakers are at 45.5 (just checked).  I would take that under.  Hopefully I find myself in NH or NY before the season starts.

Interesting on your take about Charlotte.  I’d take the under on them.  Without a Bridges this year, I see them tanking relatively quickly for better lotto odds.  I do like Ball, but Bridges was a major component to their success last year.

Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody, DiVincenzo, Poole with J. Green in reserve if Wiseman flops.
They won 53 last year without their "starting" 5, Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, Green, Looney, ever playing together.

Milwaukee at +800 and Phoenix over 52.5 seem like the 2 best bets of the top tier teams.  I think the Bucks going over 52.5 also seems like a pretty safe bet.  Curry seems like the best bet at MVP (though I wouldn't necessarily favor him to win it, but given the odds that seems like the bet worth taking).  I think Banchero will win ROY, but his odds aren't good so I probably wouldn't bet on that if I was inclined to bet.

If you told me that Leonard and George were each going to play 70 games or so and both would be healthy for the entire playoffs, then I would like the Clippers a lot more, I just don't know if all of that is actually going to happen.

As more of a flyer, I'd take the Cavs to win the title, to go over 47.5, and for Mitchell to win MVP.  Much lower odds, which makes the bet more worthwhile.  And I do think the Cavs are going to be a pretty darn good team and will probably win a whole heck of a lot of regular season games.  They have a lot of depth and a lot of really good players.  They lack the true top end talent to truly compete for a title I think, but their depth is going to cause teams problems and they should be able to withstand injuries more than most teams (which helps a lot during the grind of the regular season).

I think I'll take the under for Boston. Don't think we'll crack 53.5 wins...that run last year in the second half was magical but I think we're back to the old pattern. That said, hope Mazz and the squad could rally together tho and push for a deep playoff run.

Clippers +550? They must be a very deadly team with Kawhi and PG13 healthy. Will be interesting to watch them...need them to help take out the Warriors and Lakers.

Denver's prob the dark horse. Murray will be back. Jokic will continue to be exceptional. And they added Brown.

Yeah, if I were to bet on a team with a somewhat realistic chance to win, I’d pick Denver because of those odds.  Getting back Murray and Porter could be real big for them.  I think KCP will be a good role player for what they need as well.
