In light of Michael Jordan’s recent game worn jersey selling for over 10 million dollars…if money or availability was no obstacle, what sports jersey would you purchase, and why?

Bill Russell, 1957 Finals Game 7.

The Celtics first title, the Celtics greatest star, Game 7, 2OT.

Sadly, that jersey is probably decomposing in a landfill somewhere.

For Celtics this jersey:

For the Patriots, this jersey:

Bruins, this one will do:

Don't really have a Sox one.

Personally, it may be an obvious choice but I’d love Tom Brady’s Patriots jersey from Super Bowl 51.

All great picks, but no Sox one?  WOW, too many to choose from.  Ruth, TWill, Yaz, Fisk, Lynn, Evans, Clemens, Pedro, Manny, Papi, Pedroia, etc., etc.

For me, I'd want a Babe Ruth jersey, particularly from one of those World Series wins.

In my lifetime, probably Papi from Game 4 or Game 5 of the 2004 ALCS.

Great topic.

Jim Craig '80 Olympic Men's Hockey (February 22, 1980) would probably be my #1.

I think as far as ‘specific jersey’ goes I’m compelled towards individual achievements mostly (but not always). Trying not to repeat any already mentioned:

Wilt’s jersey from the 100 point game
Russell’s jersey from the 56 Olympics
Dr. J’s jersey from the rock the baby game
Oscar Robertson’s jersey from his last game in the triple double season
Smart’s jersey when he made all those threes
Jordan’s Shattered Backboard jersey (add Shaq and Dawkins for the trifecta
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.
