The Red Sox finished 4th in runs scored, 2nd in batting OPS in the AL.  Batting was not the problem.  And it felt like some of their better hitters had soft seasons.

They were 14th in the AL in ERA and 14th in WHIP.  Pitching is the problem.  42 starts by AAA pitchers (Winkowski, Crawford, Bello, Seabold).  Only Bello had an ERA under 5.00 (his was 4.71).

Our pitching aces (Sale and Eovaldi) are both big question marks.  I guess Paxton too.  He has a player option.  That is 3 pitchers with a lot of question marks.  Wacha may not come back.

Barring a collapse, looks like old friends Dombrowski, Schwarber and the Phillies will be heading to the NLCS.

Eh, for as good of a regular season as Schwarber had, he's batting .083 in the playoffs so far.

My Braves went cold and some bad pitching luck, but Phillies played really well and deserved to advance.  Hopefully the Padres win now to really mess up the NL playoffs

Hopefully the Red Sox are watching this postseason and realizing one thing...

PITCHING. PITCHING. PITCHING.

Look at all these teams. Most of them have two ace-caliber pitchers, and extremely good AND deep bullpens. And legit closers. I mean be real, does anyone think the Red Sox could hold some of these teams to less than 4 runs? Mariners-Astros went to 18 innings with a 0-0 score. Elite pitching all around.
