The Celtics ownership group, led by Wyc Grousbeck and Steven Pagliuca, will “take steps” in submitting an application for All-Star weekend, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Of course, there are multiple factors that need to be taken into consideration, which Washburn noted. While Boston the city would be an attractive site for the All-Star game, the Celtics don’t own TD Garden as a venue as the Bruins and C’s would have to work together.

The earliest open slot for an All-Star game is in 2025; the game will be in Utah in 2023 and Indianapolis in 2024.

While the C’s haven’t made a bid for an All-Star game in recent years, Washburn reports that the NBA wants the midseason exhibition contest in Boston.

Washburn pointed out the All-Star game doesn’t necessarily bring in major cash flow, so it’s difficult for some teams to find hosting the game as financially worth it. But if the C’s want to be highlighted for the event, the NBA’s considering applicants who are part of a rotational basis.

While the cold weather could be a deterrent, recent sites have been in cold Midwestern cities like Chicago in 2020 and Cleveland this year, along with Toronto in 2016.

Not clear draymond will even be in the league in 2026. Guess you could say same for kyrie. These are not really significant things.

Ironic that two of the most problematic people in the NBA have made claims about C’s fans. Kyrie’s antics and sentiments have been well-documented, and yet he gets a pass for some bizarre reason. Green is a classless loud-mouth. Nothing more.

An NBA All-Star Weekend in Boston would be great for the league. I’ve always heard the city is too small to handle the influx, but I would love to see us host.
