If we fail to win the title and the Clippers fail to win the title, we arguably need to move JB before he possibly “pulls a Kyrie,” and the Clippers need to move on from Klaw/PG-13, so let’s help make it happen by working with Chicago, who also need to mix things up to try to get over their hurdle:

BOS In: Kawhi, Marcus Morris Sr.
BOS Out: JB, Brogdon, Gallo

LAC In: JB, Brogdon, LaVine, DeRozan
LAC Out: Kawhi, PG-13, Marcus Morris Sr.

CHI In: PG-13, Gallo
CHI Out: LaVine, DeRozan

Note: DeRozan is on an expiring contract and is from Compton. Both LaVine and JB played college ball in Cali, so those three make for a pretty interesting new look from the Clippers.

We should also move our remaining seconds for a pick at the top of the 1st to draft the best available big.

After the trade goes down right after Gallo opts-in, we match the best offer for Grant, give Pritchard a shot to redeem himself, and start JT at the 2 since he can play any role from 2-4, so we would be ten-deep with some great rotations available:

Smart/D-White
JT/Pritchard
Klaw/Batman
Big Al/Morris
Timelord/Musky

Bench: MLE guard (competition for Pritchard), Hauser, Kornet, 2023 1st round big, Davison (or Begarin or Madar)

Great trade for the Clippers. Not so good for the Celtics and Bulls.

again, using a made up reason to try to justify living your fanboy dream of getting an aging, injury-prone player for a young all-star who's still improving.  give it up

Kawhi is not injury-prone because he’s had two serious injuries in the past decade and likes to ensure he’s 100% before competing. And he’s smart to conserve his energy/efforts for the playoffs, doing just enough to try to help the Clips get a first-round series with home court advantage. He’s an NBA 75er who’s only 31 in a time in history in which 30 is the new 25. He’s perhaps the only player in history with 100+ GS who has more steals than turnovers. We should all be referring to him as The Legendary Klaw.

Hope and change, baby. Hope for THE change!!

55% of games played over the last 5 years(including this one).  I don't know what your definition of injury prone is...be he qualifies for mine.  An aging player who is having trouble staying on the court and whose scoring is down almost 5 points per game from his high in similar minutes.  He is no longer a superstar, and likely will never be again.  He'd be 24th in the league in points if he had played enough games, and I think that is not too far from where I'd rank him in the NBA today...in the 15-20 range. Just out of the ALL NBA teams and just behind brown.

Brown and Brogdon for Kawhi and Morris is terrible for Boston
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I am not sure if Kawhi is injury prone or just plain broken down but he is not going to hold up at this point.  NO WAY I trade Brown for him in any way, shape, or form.  Not even Kawhi and 4 picks.  He is headed down a John Wall career path.  I don't think Kawhi is going to be able to stay on the court and he has 2 years after this at top dollar contract.

Now if this is predicated on Brown giving the Celtics an ultimatum, trade me or I leave, maybe you consider Kawhi and 4 picks.  But I don't believe that ultimatum will be delivered.

Still think this team needs that third, something is amiss.

GWill (S&T), Smart, and a protected 1st to Washington for Beal.  It should work once we sign GWill.

He's definitely slow recovery prone.  I still think he's elite right now, but it took him a million years to get back to this level.  I love him as a player but I wouldn't really want to gamble on him.
