More like let’s move Tatum and Brown for a ton of quality, cost-controlled picks and free agency space for when Jokic hits the market. Jokic is definitely better than Tatum and better than JT/JB combined.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that JT/JB are not bringing us a banner and can’t really trust them to stay Celtics for life like Pierce. Personally think JT is gone to LA first opportunity he gets…

When I the last time a MVP joined a team to play with a bunch of future draft picks?

We’re geographically located closest to his home country, and we’ll be the biggest market with space available so he can supplement himself with marketing $’s. Keep in mind that the scenario has us moving JB and more to get the top pick in 2022, so the last time an MVP joined a number one overall pick was LeBron/Kyrie/Cleveland.

Yes move Brown for even more draft picks will certainly lead to a MVP level player looking for a better chance to win a title to the team.

If we draft the top overall player in 2022, that should be a great player to help attract Jokic. Jokic should also be attracted to us telling him we have space for any buddy he wants from the 2023 or 2024 free agent class.

I’m just thinking outside the box instead of continued participation in this mass delusion that JT/JB are a good combo when they’re clearly not. We’re near the bottom of the rankings in the East. Our options are limited. Perhaps OKC’s treasure haul is our ticket to rebuilding. They’ve clearly added all these picks so they can make a mega trade like this for a superstar…

So trade Tatum for a bunch of picks in the hope for another player as good as Tatum gets fed up and demands a trade to a better situation?

And that situation is the Celtics who just traded away their all star level players for more draft picks then they can use?

But don't worry.  A MVP level big man is going to sign there because of draft picks and the city is closer to the Atlantic ocean.

Revised to be three first-round unprotected picks for McCollum given initial feedback:

Potential deal at the deadline if all three teams are lagging and Beal makes it clear he wants out and wants to sign a new deal paired with Tatum’s contract:

BOS In: Beal, McCollum, Bertrans

WAS In: Brown, TPE for Betrans, 2023 1st swap, 2025 1st swap

POR In: Smart, Schröder, Langford, Juancho, 2022 1st (unprotected), 2024 1st (unprotected), 2026 1st (unprotected)

Presumably Portland uses one or more of these assets to build more around Lillard. Keep in mind that McCollum is capable of running point.

Portland laughs pretty hard at this proposal. They seemingly won't do a Simmons for McCollum deal but somehow they accept Smart, a PG they don't need, two scrubs and two picks that look like they end up being late in the draft first? That's not happening.

Revised the deal to be three unprotected firsts for McCollum, similar to the George deals. They do it so the can move picks and different players to bring in someone like KAT to pair with Lillard. McCollum/Lillard is just like the issue we’re having with JT/JB: Not good enough and one has to be moved to get improved, so naturally we could be trading partners. McCollum would be an amazing number three guy with Tatum/Beal.

Let’s say Doncic is unhappy with Dallas behind the scenes and wants to be in one of the big franchises, with a clean break with Cuban. We all know that the 76ers will take most anything resembling an all-Star that they can get for Simmons at this point. If this deal became available, would you do it:

Philly solves their Simmons dilemma, Dallas still has a major duo in Tatum/Simmons locked up for years with Hardaway as a fringe #3 in a Big 3, and we have the same with Doncic/Brown/Smart. Of course, it would all hinge on Doncic secretly wanting out of Dallas, but clearly Dallas would relish moving Powell and Prozingis for Simmons and Timelord. Even if Doncic is not unhappy, this is such a win-win-win for all three parties that I think Dallas would at least consider it…

Setting aside this trade, I took a look at the Dallas roster.

Doncic might be even better than I thought. If you removed the best player from every team in the league, Dallas might have the worst remaining roster of any NBA team.

So Philly gets the Zinger and what may be slightly better draft position for Simmons all the while making Boston a juggernaut.  Come on man.
