Cuba Gooding Jr as the high maintenance good player who thinks he should be a superstar in Jerry Maguire.

Kevin Costner as the aging minor leaguer.

Wesley Snipes and/or Woody Harrelson in White Men Can't Jump.

I also agree with Sly Stallone and Carl Weathers.

Sean Astin in Rudy.

Three full pages.... and no one has said the Carlson Brothers as the Hanson Brothers yet?

Slap Shot -- maybe the most quotable sports movie ever, made by the great George Roy Hill. For every 1 great Bull Durham or Major League quote, there's 10 from Slap Shot:

DeNiro as Jake LaMotta (Raging Bull).  Also as Bruce Pearson in Bang the Drum Slowly, one of my favorite movies.

TP - DeNiro as Jake LaMotta sets the standard here

Well, I did mention Newman, the Hanson Bros and Slapshot on page 1.  Just so you know they weren't ignored...

Also, Pele in in Victory (good movie) legitimately looked like he could play soccer.

You spelled Alvin Mack's name wrong.

I thought he was a more convincing linebacker than someone like actual linebacker Lawrence Taylor (Any Given Sunday).

Alvin Mack felt real to me.  So to me the answer is Duane Davis (who played Alvin Mack).

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Sorry -- must have missed that one. TP.
