I don't care much about Scal, he was just a 3rd stringer at best during the Big 3 era. If you weren't some impact-type player then you were just some random warming the bench.

But hearing him disrespect some nice Boston commentators...wow.

Can someone post link?

I want to reiterate what I said when this thread was first started: I like Scal doing the games, but I live out of market so I never see the pre/post game stuff.  That being said, somebody posted this high quality link on Reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/comments/ly2eow/scals_ego_is_through_the_roof_had_me_cringing_for/

Wow.  This seems nothing like the Scal who I think does a good job calling the games.   This guy seems like a jerk.  I finally understand what everyone is talking about.

Let's see, we want Bird to replace Ainge and McHale to replace Scal.  Maybe Pitino was wrong......

Yet, the negativity here does suck... so maybe he was right too.

I either listen to the opposing team's broadcast or mute the game when I watch on league pass. Scal is so grating, which is a bummer because I really like Gorman.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle

I don't get the local feeds to hear Scal, but I generally like him on his SiriusXM show.  Bit surprised to hear this about him actually.

Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson

Is anyone watching the NBC Sports post game tonight?  Scal is so rude to Abby and Forsberg.  I don’t think it’s friendly banter.

This has been going on for 3 years. I guess they don't like each other, I guess Scal doesn't think much of Abby's basketball knowledge because he's always patronizing. It worked with Draper because the two of them just bounced insults off each other but with Abby it looks like he's picking on her. And I guess Abby made a joke about Scal's benchwarmer status a few years ago and Scal really got raged by it.

It got really bad right after Abby took over Celtics Pre and Post Game, one Pre Game Scal was saying something to Perk and Abby started to say something and Scal shushed her saying "Be quiet Abby Perk and I are talking" and when they were about to go to commercial Abby said "don't you ever tell me to shush, this is MY show" and then they went to break. I guess that must have caught the attention of NBC Sports Boston brass because after that I think Scal was told to be nice to her and so far they've been, but it's very obvious they don't like each other. I'm a little surprised he decided to belittle Forsberg too though.

In terms of his color commentary though, I don't think he's too bad. He's a bit too much of a cheerleader for the team like many ex players but he can occasionally come up with something insightful.

It was brutal.  had to change the channel.

When Scal was doing spot relief color commentating for Tommy he was fine.  as he's taken over the full-time, he's become less enjoyable (for lack of a better term).  His behavior in the postgame discussions with Abby have become brutal to watch.   He wasn't much better with Draper last year.  wouldn't mind moving on to a new color guy next season or sooner

I agree with the group here. Scal was okay as a novelty filling in for Tommy but he is getting unbearable to listen to as the nightly color commentator.

I call him Brian 'pick and roll' Scalabrine because he must say pick and roll at least 80 times during any game.

Lets be serious tho, he has big shoes to fill that in my mind are irreplaceable.

And for what its worth he is better then the Van Gundy brothers.

Bring in Cedric Maxwell. He would be great.

I think Scal is just fine as a color guy next to Gorman.  He knows modern basketball and he respects Mike, and Mike is a professional who can work with anybody.

As for the pre/postgame stuff, the whole thing is a mess.  I don't like anybody on that crew.
