This is messed up. Hopefully things can get "back to normal" soon.

On a positive note, it gives the Celtics plenty of time to hopefully heal all their injuries fully before games resume

I feel so bad for laughing, but someone on a Twitter reply posted, "Gobert DPOY, he shut down the whole NBA down"
it's actually a funny line but can't help but wonder how well he'll be received by other players, those that work in the league and the media for his antics prior to being diagnosed.

I hate to say it, and hope I'm wrong. But I don't think Gobert will be the only player to test positive.

Here's to hoping he wasn't able to spread the disease to the Celtics. The players aren't high risk but I am sure many in the Celtics family are.

Ehh, well, I didn't like Rudy Gobert after Gordon Hayward left Utah for Boston. Sucks for him though.

Didn't Anthony Davis licked his hand, high-fived Avery Bradley and then Bradley touched his own face moments after?

I think there will be no playoffs. There's no way this outbreak gets better in the next few months. Its going to get a lot worse.

What are we supposed to talk about now? Can’t even talk about off season stuff yet.

i suppose we could start threads on books we read while the suspension carries on.  ;D

and tps for everyone simply because we can use them right now.

For what it’s worth, season suspended does not mean that more regular season games will not be played. The NBA learned of Gobert’s diagnosis after games had already tipped off tonight, so they decided to finish tonight, then stop immediately and reassess.  If there are playoffs, I would be surprised if they jumped immediately from this hiatus to the playoffs, because there will be a desire to not have teams come out rusty for the postseason.

Although the most likely event will be that the playoffs don’t happen. Being able to start next season on time would be a win at this point. And goodness knows what they’re going to have to do with the salary cap.

Either season resumes in May/June and playoffs get dragged into late July/August.

Then start next season mid-October or start next season late but cut the season short.

I think if season resumes, it will extend into the summer. They should cut down balance of regular season games, maybe give them additional weight; if half the balance of games cut back, the remaining games count double in calculating standings. Playoffs could continue into late July, early August. This all assumes that the virus gets some containment.  That's a big if.
