Hauser kept us in it with his timely 3's in the first half when we were really struggling.  I thought PP was great in the minutes he played.  Really solid team win.  I hope we can find a consistent 9th man.  We're going to need consistent contributions from someone else.  Brissett or Stevens when they're called.

The Js with KP are hard to beat.

this team will be deadly. PP, Sh and AL coming off bench. the starting 5 are beasts, and can beat you many ways.

understatement of the year.  love the fit KP has with our guys after only a few weeks into the season.
That teamwork is only going to get better.

He really is the perfect big for both of them.

While I do miss Smart, I will say Porzingis has been an absolute godly addition for this team. Our first legit scoring big since KG, and while he might not be as "tough" as KG (although who is?), he fits today's modern NBA beautifully. He's not a complete liability on defense either, and has size. Glad we have him for years to come. You can tell the Jays and our guards benefit from having him on the court too.

Ended the game shooting 44% from 3.  Hard to beat.

yup. we have a solid 8 man rotation now. get a 9th man to contribute and we will be golden in playoffs

For all the stick Jaylen is getting here tonight he is a +17, behind only KP with +19, and has 22 pts, 4 reb and 6 assists…maybe we’re only noticing the bad things he’s doing and not the good things

This has been true all year.  I suspect that a lot of people haven't let go of the Miami G7.

The guy is really good.  There are holes in his game - big ones - but he doesn't deserve the amount of vitriol that he gets here imho.

Sorry no. You're missing the forest for the trees.

He's always put up big stats. Even when he is scoring well some games, he is taking away from the quality of how we are playing offense. The ball is not moving, players are standing around and he inevitably tries to force the ball and turns it over. He will always be able to put up numbers in this league because he is so athletic and talented. But replace him with someone not quite as talented but who gels with the other players on the floor better, and in the long run, the team plays with more efficiency and is harder to defend overall. That pays off even more in the playoffs when the defense is amped up and iso ball grinds the offense to a stop.

The Knicks came into the game as the second best defensive rating in the NBA, yet we still put up 114 and JT had an efficient 35. Crazy.

And we came in as the third best defensive rating in the NBA and held them under 100. I think we'll move up to number two after tonight.

If Brown can give 6 plus assists and 3 or less turnovers like tonight, he will fit a lot better in his current role on the team. I just don't think he can consistently do that, which is the problem.

That was as good a win as they've had in a while. Great offensive and defensive execution down the stretch. Porzingis running the pick and roll with Tatum - Jaylen looking to get his in transition, where he's at his best. And the bench played well.  Nice move too by Joe hacking Robinson with about 3 min to go.

White and Horford were pretty awful and despite that, we still beat what many consider the 4th or 5th best team in the East (and a team that has given us trouble over the past year) by 16 points. I'll take it!

I can be hard on Jaylen at times and Miami G7 was a microcosm of the issues I have with his play. To be fair though, there are parts of his game I really do enjoy - his ability to explode to the rim, how good he is in the open court. But the things that frustrate me that still rears its head a lot: how he gets caught ball watching on defense, how you can tell when he's going to shoot the ball the moment he catches it no matter what's happening on the court, the free throw shooting, and his penchant for taking on 3 or 4 defenders even when he doesn't have to. Those things are fair to criticize as long as it's still happening. Whether he wanted it or not, he's got the big contract now and he's going to get nitpicked now more than ever. Is it fair? Idk. But it comes with the territory.

Yeah, I'm tired of hearing about them already when they barely beat us when both the Jays had really bad games scoring about half of their normal points.

They're also a bit of fool's gold right now, I think. Coming into tonight, they've had the 15th hardest schedule (we're at 2nd hardest) and they've played 6 of 9 at home with the next 2 at home, as well (compared to us just finishing our 5th home game in our 10th game and getting ready for another 4 game road trip).

Their schedule will balance out and they'll look much less formidable soon enough. We'll also get them on a back to back this time, so advantage us.
