What do you give TPs for?

I guess there are some different opinions about this, but I thought I could at least explain why I do it.

In no particular order.

Something really really funny

Something surprisingly gutsy, but not over the top. Like maybe "They need to trade Pierce" but not "We should try to trade for Lebron"

If I feel like someone is or has backed me up on something sometimes

Something very clever

Something where someone has gone above and beyond to produce or explain something positive

People laughing at themselves

There's probably other stuff but I can't think of any right now

I never give them for someone just agreeing with something I've said.

I give them for something well thought out and/or clearly time consuming.

Of course I give them out in trivia threads!

Something funny

When someone disagrees with me (i.e. in a trade thread) and explains their perspective.

anyone who praises the squirrel, or gives it a really good insult too - plus sotott posts usually get em, and whenever someone is close to a milestone I try to get them one step closer (or when they hit it, I like to get them going toward their next)

I give them for something Tommy would say,

For people talking about tommy, or joking about tommy, or stories about tommy.

also for 'hitting the deck' for loose balls or taking charges and overall winning-celtic blogging moves.

Save me time, get a TP. Been my philosophy for going on 3 years.

Write something that saves me the time of writing the same thing...TP.

Give me a link so I don't have to go Google...TP.

teach me something I would have had to research and spend time learning...TP.

But also, funny stuff, well written stuff, poignant stuff and Boxer love gets TP's too.

Also for witty ideas, humorous comments, and to people who either take my side in a discussion, or prove me wrong in a nice way and win me over to agreeing with their opinion

I give TPs to people who take the words right out of my mouth. Its actually pretty cool, cuz I'm like, wow, people out there actually think exactly the same as I do. So I give them a TP as props for being smart enough to agree with me.
