Also ouch for cavs allowing 127 points for the T-Wolves.

Cavs are starting to feel the defensive limitations that come along with IT

Weird play. Looks like he was really having one of those bad nights. Couldn't even foul correctly!! 😄😢

How about Lebron scoring 10 points all game ?
-
Wow. That, does not look good...
-
Clearly IT should be suspended by the league...on Feb 11

Yeah, teams are routinely blasting them on offense. They're relying entirely on their offense

He was deferring to " Mini Me Lebron " to take over scoring ......and Thomas misunderstood his boss and took Wiggms head off. ..
Dirty little IT ...... ;D
LOl....Cavs announcer called it right......IT wound up , and caught him square with a right cross. .....beautiful TKO.

Wiggins is only 12 inches taller ......that should be no problem ......IT has a whole team of ALL STar vets like Lebron, D Wade , Rose ,KLOVe to cover ....hide him.
-
IT channeled his inner DWade on that one. But even Wade doesn't make his dirty plays THAT obvious. Usually.
-
Looks like Wiggins sold it. IT's arm is soooo significant. Probably had some ketchup packets handy to squeeze on his face.
Cav's are just nothin' last few weeks.
Raptors are 15-3 in their last 18....more worried about them than old Cavs.
-
Man, what the heck was IT doing. That looked like an old Razor Ruddock half hook half uppercut shot.
-
Don't think it was malicious.
Trying to swipe the ball. He immediately walks over and says to Wiggins "I didn't mean to do that".
Still a flagrant 2 and probably a 1 game suspension.
-
Watched it a few times and I have no explanation. No viable play at the ball really, and had his eyes on Wiggins the whole time. Probably mad they were being crushed by the TWolves, lol

I don't see him trying to swipe the ball at all, myself.

I don't think of IT as a dirty player, but it's hard for me to justify that action using any basketball logic. It wasn't a whack at the ball... or if it was, he didn't come anywhere close. I kind of think he was giving the foul to stop the dunk and used too much force, but that won't be much of a case when they review this later. Or maybe he was down 30 and just took the chance at a cheap shot when it presented itself. Again, I don't think of IT as that type of guy, but who knows?
I'd expect him to miss some time.
-

Agreed, and that 1 game suspension won't mean anything since he's not playing back to backs. Their next 2 games are back to back, so he can just serve it on one of those nights.
-
For all the hand wringing some did on this board over the Celtics .500 stretch the cavs have lost 6 of their last 9.

That lineup couldn't defend a chair before Isaiah. I hope he doesn't wear the blame for how Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. they are defensively.
Their problems are far deeper on that end than just point guard.

Agreed.
No play was made on the ball. He needs to be suspended.
No idea what he was thinking. No level of frustration warrants something like that.
-
Having a bad shooting night. Probably frustration. It happens.
-
One thing is it looked like IT wasn't happy before the hit. It started with his arms up in air when team got back on d. Then 2 picks through traffic. My only thought is he thought Wiggins was going to put the ball out farther when he drove and he was trying to meet the ball at that point. No ball arm kept going...
Either way the call is correct and he'll loose a game pay check

He continues to show his immaturity and why it was a great idea to trade this bum. Celtics need to seriously get rid of that tribute on the 11th
-
My favorite part is how non-nonchalant the referee tosses him. He basically watches the video and says to himself "well this is an easy one.. get this guy out of here."

It sounds a little extreme, but if you say so.

I'm not getting into the whole tribute thing again - IT definitely deserves one, but I don't think it should be on Paul's night...
However, it is quite disingenuous to compare that flagrant with IT's

Because Pierce’s was more dangerous?
But in all seriousness, flagrants happen. One of the most celebrated Celtics plays of all time could have easily seriously injured Kurt Rambis. Pierce, KG, Rondo, etc., sometimes committed flagrants, and we’re even blatantly dirty at times. KG broke a teammate’s jaw while with the Twolves.
Do those actions make the guys immature and unworthy of recognition? It’s a silly test.

Please provide the video link on this foul. Very unfair to compare a picture with a video.

Really? Nothing about that looked intentional. Yes, he was frustrated and just swiped randomly, but the play was going so fast at that moment that if that's what he was actually trying to do, he probably would have missed. There was no time there for him to wind up and aim.
-
IT immediately apologized after the foul. I don't think he meant to clobber him in the throat/neck and realized how bad it was after.
He's a competitve/chippy guy and we all knew that when he was here. Just a frustration foul in a blowout that he went too high with and was late so instead of a hard swipe on the ball it became a clothesline.
Deserved ejection.
-
It definitely was a very odd play but IT has never been dirty and he was immediately apologetic. I really think he just unthinkingly swung his arm in frustration. Which can hurt someone so an ejection is fine but I don't see anything more.

He absolutely deserves a tribute but I'm still lost on why they didn't have it on the 3rd.. I felt like IT not playing that back to back was the perfect opportunity to give him a tribute while also not affecting the game. Too many times it feels like they have the tributes while that player is in the game and try to get in their head somewhat with the video and it just brings out a lot of emotions sometimes even firing up said player against former team. Now they want to do it on pierce night and it just don't feel right
-
Not IT's shining moment. Definitely a bush league play.
-
The NBA just announced that Isaiah Thomas was fined $20K, no suspension, for his lariat on Andrew Wiggins. So Cavs will have him Thursday in Toronto.

If I remember correctly he did a similar thing while he was on the Celtics, same upward hand chop into someone's grill.

Not that I remember. He was only ejected twice with the Celtics, once in his debut for arguing a call, and against Miami last year for this:

I still think that’s a weak call.
-
IT is short but he probably outweights wiggins . IT has huge arms . IT is a cannonball .
I watched the replay many times , it looked mighty intentional, even though i doubt it was..and if i had the short time to make the call the refs do , id kicked him out too.
Thing is he does not look mad or really paying attention to to make an exact play ......seems he just throws an arm out .....if it does something good fine, IT at this point can 't leap to stop Wiggins , so he makes a clumy play to show effort and Wiigins got hurt . Reading his expression after the fact , he was like oh great , now this too add to the team troubles tonight.
I think it was not premeditated, he threw his arm out carelessly at the player , kinda like waving a loaded gun and it goes off and hurts somebody.
I think the refs did the right thing , followed the rules and kicked IT . That was the correct call. I give him a pass on doing premeditation. Sloppy half wayplaying defense. Not caring.
-
I remember worrying about whether he would be suspended for whatever happened with Schroder in the playoffs.
-

He smacked Schroeder in the playoffs.

He got a post-game flagrant 1 for his swipe at Schroder (the refs completely missed it live). It wasn’t his best moment, and the NBA could have justified a stiffer penalty. But it was the playoffs, Schroder may have embellished it a bit (or he may not have, the camera just wasn’t clear), and arguably Schroder initiated the contact.

There’s a video in the attached article that ultimately shows the highlight (after 40 seconds of ESPN talking heads). I remember being legitimately nervous that he’d be suspended for a game, and was hoping for a post-game flagrant to but with no suspension.
