Sixth Man - Enes Kanter
like the team but still don't understand taking Amare in the first
Amare is quietly playing very well for New York off the bench. He has a much improved post game and is scoring very effectively. If his minutes were not limited due to chemistry concerns there, he would be getting a lot more attention for his strong play for the Knicks.
I wanted a 2nd high quality scorer to put alongside Eric Gordon and I rated Amare as the best option available. After D-Wade, I think Amare was the next best (non-injured) scorer in the first round. I also liked that he was a big man who was strong in the pick and roll and could develop a nice two man game with E.Gordon too.
I didn't think Amare would last until my next pick. I thought he made too much sense for too many towards the bottom the of the first round and didn't like the odds of him making it past all those teams. I don't know whether I was right or wrong about that but that is why I took him in the first.
Side note: I loved the idea of LeBron, Amare and Bosh together. I thought that frontcourt would have been unguardable. If I didn't select Amare, I was hoping Miami would pick Amare. That would've been a really fun team.
